Gemex Brilliance Scope Question

For a long time I have wondered how Gemex determines the range for grading diamonds in light return. I had an 'ah-ha' moment recently when I saw that Gemex grades each diamond shape on their own scale. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where these scales fall relative to eachother. Like where is the princess cut light return range compared to rounds? Also I'm curious where a princess solasfera would fall on a Brilliance Scope round scale? This may be a question for Rhino or Gemex directly though.

Gemex has really locked down what can be published and their reports.
They would not allow such a report to be published and screen shots are not allowed.
Playing around with it like we did in the old days is no longer possible due to copyright laws.

Well, I contacted Gemex directly and got a quick and professional response. The person from Gemex was very helpful and told me that I could give him my Solasfera ID number and he'd e-mail me back a round scale report for my Solasfera princess. The results were very surprising and fun! It seems Solasfera Princess diamonds are comparable to most Ideal Cut rounds as far as Gemex light return grading goes!

One thing to note: The diamonds pictures don't look like they came from the same diamond at first. However, if you look closely, you can see that all the diamond pictures are just rotated 90 degrees. Not sure why this is.

@Karl_K,

I wasn't told from the rep anything about posting restrictions or limitations. Since I got the report directly from him, I figure I should be ok.

That's a very nice reading on the round scale for a princess.

That's what I would expect in a Solasfera princess cut. Full of scintillation and sparkle.

Being intimately familiar with Bscope results and Solasfera Princess I'd concur. They are among the only princess cuts we see that are comparable to brightness, fire and sparkle to the rarest round brilliant cuts. I would also add that with the caveat that the Bscope is only adequate in determining light performance in spot lighting environments.

Regards,
Rhino
