I am planning on going. I'm pretty flexible on the date and time. When did you have in mind?

Don''t really have a date time in mind. Probably around 3:00 on Saturday would work best though. I think.

Sounds great. I may have another commitment on that day, but I will finalize tomorrow or Wednesday and let you know for sure whether I can be there. How do Pricescopers usually recognize each other at these things? I totally want Dee*Jay''s Axe Murderer shirt for this purpose.

Actually, I just remembered I already posted a picture of my face on this forum. Here it is again. Also, I am really short (4''10"), and will probably wear a knee-length brown moleskin coat.

I haven't posted my face... but, I'll post my outfit on this thread on Friday??? Would that work? Sounds like a plan!! Now lets see if anyone wants to make this a larger outing!

Brown hair past my shoulders, 5' 7" Persian, and size 14. LOL.

Wish I could make it! Unfortunately I''ll be in LA that weekend =( Let me know when the next Bay area GTG is!

Definitely. I was thinking of actually calling for one when the weather warms up... like the weekend before or after Memorial Day. We can plan it in this thread, if you want to Rockzilla. It''s always a good idea to plan these things a reasonable time out.

Valley Fair/ Santana Row?

Palo Alto (and fabulous antique/ vintage store I can''t recall the name too)

Or the City?

Last two have been in the city so one of the two other areas have my vote.

There was a GTG at the Stanford Mall that worked pretty well. Then we could go to Gleim, Bailey Banks & Biddle, Tiffany, Cartier, and Neiman Marcus. Gypsy, are you thinking of the vintage jewelry store in the Stanford Barn? I think I remember someone mentioning it once. If it''s the one I''m thinking of, it''s called Darren McClung.

Santana Row is wonderful, though not for jewelery. Derco closed that location. The only other jewelery store there is Beau Bijou, which I believe sells more costume type jewelery? Not sure, as I''ve never been inside.

Valley Fair has mostly mall jewelers of course, though it does include a Tiffany, and I''ve always been intrigued by Na Hoku.

Of course, we don''t have to base the location choice on jewelery store availability. It would be a treat just to meet other Pricescopers and talk about diamonds. I find Valley Fair unpleasantly loud, so Santana Row or the Stanford Mall/Palo Alto area get my vote.

gypsy,

i''m interested but unable to commit: story of my life!

if the weather is good, i''ll probably stay home on saturday. sunday is booked already. friday i have appointments in santa cruz until 130p or so.......it is possible i could drive up for the show then.......but not a confirmed definite as aoaf this writing.

i also may have to be in chico on thursday which is a 4 hour one way drive for me and i''d be going up and back in the same day.

what my mood will be on friday afternoon or saturday re driving will have to wait until closer to the date.

however, i''m really interested in going as i haven''t been in years, like 1990? the one stone i bought then, amethyst cab, always got comments from people......

Hey MZ. If you can make. FABULOUS. If you can''t, will you join us at the next GTG? I''d love to see your COLOR in person.

Ooooooooh DEFINITELY. Our own color expert reporting on the good available.

I really want to go! Unfortunately, I don''t think I can because FF and I will both be in Oakland on Sat. afternoon (I live in Santa Cruz, he in Monterey) for a soccer game and I don''t know if he''d want to go with me and I can''t ditch him since we''ll be in one car. And I don''t even know if our men are even invited to these GTG things.

Mine might be along for the ride. May not be. Depends. They can commiserate about how light their pocketbooks feel everytime they see us on this board. LOL.

Men are always welcome. So are dogs and cats. And birds....

Hi Gypsy, I''d love to go and I''m pretty sure we don''t have anything going on this weekend. I''ll double check w/ FI and let you know. And I think it would be a great idea to do a GTG in late May.

not an expert....but i have seen some really good stones which has helped me to develop my eye. of course, seeing some really bad stones helped even more! wish i could afford what my eye always likes!

Oh that sounds fun...I''ll see if there''s any way I can slip away for that this weekend, but it might not be possible, sadly

In any case I''m totally up for a GTG in late May sometime - I think I''d vote for Palo Alto but would be fine with whatever others decide is best

I won''t be able to make the May GTG either because I''m going out of state for 5 months and won''t be back until October.

YAY Asscher girl and Amber! Star sparkle oh no. We'll have to take LOTS of pics for you. I'm excited to go to the show this weekend. Hope EVERYONE can make it.

MZ you have a GREAT eye. I hope attending this show will improve mine!

For the GTG:
Okay so I'm going to suggest Stanford Shopping Center Palo Alto-- meet at???? and have Lunch at Babbo's in May.

What time does everyone want to meet? Do you know what time it goes to?

As for a May GTG at Stanford, that would be great. Wow, I''ll be a married lady by then

Oh ringster, I wish you could come to a May get-together. We could talk about where to buy pants and dresses that fit! Finding jewelry and shoes isn't a problem, though.

We should probably start a new thread to plan the May GTG.

The show closes at 6 pm on Saturday. Gypsy suggested meeting at 3:00, and that works well for me too.

Yeah! Start a new thread would be cool... that way we can talk details etc.

i agree about jewelry - much easier to go shopping for!

threadjack -- i don''t remember if you are married yet but if so, what kind of wedding dress did you wear? i had a heck of a time finding a dress.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that you have problems buying shoes. I assume you already know about Nordstrom and Zappos.com? I'm a 5, so I just squeak by.

I haven't posted much about my wedding, but I'll be married this summer at the Fort Mason Parade Ground in San Francisco, near Neatfreak's site. We're keeping it pretty casual, so I'm wearing the JCrew Goddess dress. SuLi was considering it at one point and posted pictures here if you want to see it. The 4P fit me perfectly (I'm not as thin as SuLi's 2P, darn) and is very flattering when worn with a nice supportive bustier underneath. It just needs about an inch of hemming and perhaps a bit of strap adjustment. I'm super excited. Thanks for asking!

Weekend after Memorial day would be great for me (weekend before I''ll be in LA)..think that''s the 31st?

I left my car in LA, so if it is not in the city I vote for a place that I can get to easily with public transit. I have taken CalTrain before to get to Atherton and that was no problem...but if it is complicated to get to from the train station that could be an issue...
