hey guys if you look at the blue nile ideal signature diamonds you will see that they have GCAL grading reports.. those reports have small pictures called "photomicrograph" What do these show? Are you guys able to see if that diamond has lots of brilliance and fire? if you compare GCAL reports of these 2 diamonds you will see that the first one looks SO MUCH better, you can see all the facets and the second one looks like the top table part is all messed up..Is there an ideal look these diamonds should have in those PHOTOMICROGRAPH pictures?? type those stock number in search box on blue nile website and then once you get the diamond press on "grading report" then when window opens you will see GIA and GCAL grading reports.. click on GCAL (front)

don`t you guys agree that the first one looks better then the other one on those pics? the 2nd one looks a bit defformed..

I am afraid it does not mean much to me?

i wish they would explain what it is all about.

GCAL is a small lab that does work for ‘branded’ reports. The do work for BN and quite a few other dealers and they are a pretty reputable outfit. The photographs are interesting and somewhat useful for recognizing the particular stone as well as for deciding if it has the appropriate general shape for your application. This is why they are included on the report. IMO, they aren’t really very useful for doing the cut analysis that you are hoping for.
