Never heard of Jared's before PS. When leaving the dentist I spotted their store & stopped in.
It was really interesting to see three 1ct diamonds lined up - a Solasfera, a Leo & a Tolkowsky. My choice was the Tolkowsky, at least in this particular line up with their super lighting.
I learned that only Jared's can sell a diamond cut to true Tolkowsky proportions and all their diamonds are cut to Tolkowsky's original numbers.
The other thing I learned was that I could buy a 1.02 I/VS2 or a 0.95 I/SI2 for the same price, $7,600, because all Tolkowsky cut diamonds are the same, so they are sold by carat weight, not clarity, because that doesn't matter with Ideal stones. Both 1.02 & 0.95 are considered "a carat", so I would be getting a bargain if I bought the larger diamond.
disclaimer: If you are reading this post to gather information for purchasing a stone, please pass it by. This is just an interesting "moment at Jared's" that I didn't really understand. But everything was very pretty!
