frustrated by store credit

Ok first let me say thank you for reading and hopefully taking the time to provide some friendly advice. Now....

I currently have $4100 in store credit at Jareds. And where thats great...I have recently through PS found some very nice online venders. I am frustrated as hell cause I know that money could go so much further online. I am not opposed to buying a nice stone online and getting the setting at Jareds but I just found a james allen set that I fell in love with. The clover bridal set. Which doesn''t help me at all. Anyway I am just frustrated. What do I need advice on... I am not sure. I know everything I can get at Jareds I can find with better quality and price online. So where is the happy medium?

Do you know anyone who *wants* to buy something from Jared''s? Maybe you could "sell" them your credit, even at some sort of discount, and use the $ to buy the JA set? (Although that''s kind of a double edged sword because if it''s someone that you like you might want to steer them on-line too so they can get something better for the $... )

well if you have the money why not just by the set you want and do something else with your 4100. I am sure the opportunity to do something with it will appear in the future. Otherwise I would say your only options would be to sell it to someone, buy something for someone and then have them buy it from you, or maybe you can talk to Jared''s and get cash back less than the full amount? I doubt that but...maybe?

Just thinking off the cuff here. Is there any way you can tell them specs for stones you would consider and bug them to bring those in? I'm of the opinion that if they're not going to refund the money, then they're going to have to give me what I want if they're tying up my $$ in store credit. I'd tell them that this is what I want and I'm not going to settle for something below my standards simply because they don't have it in stock. The key there would be to make them realize it's not worth the hassle to deal with you, if they can't (or won't) bring in what you want. We're talking a significant amount of money here, not to just spend on 'something else' because the credit is with Jared's.

A lot less trouble would be to sell the credit to someone, even for a few $ less than it's worth, to get the money so you CAN get what you want from WHO you want....

Why is it that you have credit instead of a refund? Can you buy something with the credit and then return THAT with the receipt for the money back?

Tough situation.

You can always ask the store manager....then bring it up one notch to the district manager.
The decision makers closer to the top are consumer satisfaction driven. Good luck!

Ask Jareds to special order the JA setting from JA, if possible, or another vendor that carries the product.

The worse they can say is NO and then you can go above the Manager''s head to the next level and then the next level.

Just might work....
