As per Rhett Bulter's famous last line in my favourite film of all time, being Gone With The Wind, this is the mood I am having as we progress into the festive season this year.

Life really is too short to be too cautious about being good with food and drink this year.

Hence I have started my festive cocktail making at home a few days ago to have a cocktail every day, instead of just in December.

Instead of a duck, I shall have a goose instead. A bit OTT for just one person in terms of cost as well as quantity; however, none will go to waste, and I shall fill up my fridge and freezer with goose related goodies afterwards.

Cheers everyone, be merry and stay safe!

Love!

I was just about to tag you! I hope it will brighten you day a bit. Hugs!

Thank you! Hugs to you too!

Festive cocktails sound fun. I’m going to look some up.

DK, maybe you secretly enjoy being goosed? :Up_to_something::bigsmile:

My favourite gone with the song line is right near the end with all that red sky special effects and she's picking radishes from the garden because that's all they have and she says tomorrow is another day
As God is my witness I'll never bw hungry again

If my finances don't improve its going to be very scaled down Christmas day food this year but I'll make it festive somehow
maybe a chicken bacon salad and a baseless cheese cake

I loved to play Tara's Theme on the piano growing up. It's such a dramatic piece!

Some years ago, I had the opportunity to see GWTW on a big screen as part of its 40th anniversary, and it is still my most memorable cinematic experience to date.

I saw it after i had seen a doco on its making- that it itself is a good watch
didn't enjoy the book - i found it hard to read

Never read the book - not keen on reading doorstoppers myself.

Believe it or not, I was required to read GWTW in 8th grade. Not sure how that teacher got away with it. I really did read it, though I finished just in time to get the book report done. I enjoyed it, but I'm sure that many of my classmates did not.

@KaeKae so did I ! Was sure this teacher was Mad! lol But, I devoured the book oh in a couple of days, did the book report and he took the class to watch the movie. I truly enjoyed both the book and movie. Gosh I feel so old now, 8th grade was a looooong time ago lol

She has the best example of a heart shaped face IMHO!

Are pina coladas considered a holiday drink?

asking for a friend

Yup, and I love it anytime of the year!

I love the similar Blue Hawaiian and bought a jug blender with it in mind.

My dad had to have Cordon Bleu the normal one, and Hennessy XO in the drinks cabinet at all times!

Love this!

We have decided that even if Boris DOES give us permission to mingle, we aren't going to as it's not worth the risk to any of us, or indeed my elderly mother. We will deliver presents on Xmas eve, have a little doorstep chat with my brother, sisters & families, then hunker down at home. Mum will spend the day with my little sister's family as she is part of their bubble, and the rest of us will have our own little quiet family Christmases.

Mr T is menu planning later today & is very excited that he gets to cook this year. We have hosted Christmas here a couple of times over the years (we both have huge immediate families, so it's 19 of us up here from my family & 16 from his family in Somerset) but not since 2013. My brother has done our Northern Christmas days since then, as he now has the biggest kitchen with a table that seats 16, plus kitchen island in there too that seats another 5, so no shuffling & decorating pasting tables are required!

The girls are a little sad they won't get a normal day with their cousins & all the chaos, but they are resigned to this being normal now, which is sad. We haven't been to Somerset since last Christmas.

So we will be thankful, eat, drink & be merry! Cheers!

I’ve never had a blue Hawaiian. I think I’ll make that this week’s mission.
