I have a small, size 3 ring finger. Now, but you go off on how lucky I am, let just tell you - I think it''s a curse! I peruse many of the designer jeweler sites and often inquire about semi-mounts listed in my size and ALL have come back with enormous mark-ups to make the setting sized to fit my finger

It''s really irritating! Just because I don''t wear a size 5 means that I have to pay $600 on up for the same setting.

Case in point......

The Knox "enchatment". Beautiful setting. Priced at $1590. For me $2190

I guess I''m just venting....I''m annoyed. I hate that I can''t just get the same setting for the same price as the next girl.

So my post is to all of you with small fingers - how much extra did you pay? Have you found stock rings in a size 4 or smaller and if so, where?

I have normal sized fingers (teehee, just kidding), but I know of no designer that has size 4 and as a stock setting. Well, maybe right at 4, but anything under is a special order. Sorry.

hmm, i wear a 3.5 and so far my quotes and pricing has been no different for my size.

I''m sorry that you get the run around when it comes to finding a stock setting. Try to look at the bright side, any rock you get will look HUGE on your precious little finger!!!!!!

metro...poor you! Curse you little-finger gals!

Seriously, I assume you''re paying more because they''re custom making your size, not sizing down that much, so consider it a small extra surcharge for a custom ring made especially for you!

oh and I wanted to add, I have not found any stock settings in a 4. most have even gone up from a 6 to a 6.5. that said, the rings I''ve always asked about usually are made to order no matter what size, so maybe that''s why the pricing is no different??

Same here...I''m a 3.5, but I have not found prices to be different for the settings I was looking for. I usually see size 4 as the lowest in stock pieces, though.

Wow, that sucks. It''s less metal and you have to pay more for it.

But I think I get it that if they don''t make a stock setting in that size it''s then sort of like making a custom ring.

It works the other way too, but I guess I can understand it more when it is using more metal. I think the upcharge is because it isn''t standard and has to be custom made. It''s a pain for the larger-fingered gals too, I assure you!
