I know you guys are all either experts or super experts. But imagine if you were just a sweet, innocent young lady who has never really looked at a diamond or studied about it. How would you see this diamond?
I thought everything GOG had in house was much better than this.![]()
If your budget is 3k or just under these would be safer choices:Date: 10/12/2009 11:58:42 PM

Perhaps its a low color, low clarity, low quality cut diamond at a VERY LOW price.Date: 10/13/2009 2:29:27 AM

i thought GOG''s clientele was of the sophisticated type
perhaps its a demo diamond ?![]()
Thats the crux of it and there is a ready market for these types of diamonds ( not normally seen much here). Also there is no upgrade policy with this diamond, this is usual for this quality. It is small for the weight and lacks edge to edge brightness which also helps a diamond look large visually, however for the lady who wants a certain weight on a budget and doesn't mind that the diamond doesn't look as large as it should do, it can be an option.Date: 10/13/2009 2:43:01 AM

The poster does pose an interesting question though, assuming its eye clean thats a whole lot more real estate on the finger than what they can afford in a more ideal quality diamond.
If that is for an E-ring than thats a pretty poor choice but as a gift especially with the GOG upgrade policy who knows.
Then you haven''t seen very many diamonds on here, I''ve seen WAY worse.Date: 10/13/2009 12:05:26 AM

Honestly, it is one of the worst diamonds I have ever seen posted on Pricescope. There is just so many things wrong with it. But then again on the other hand, you''re looking at a 1.6ct diamond for $2700 so if you''re willing to live with the (many) flaws this diamond has then that''s your choice.
I agree, well said.Date: 10/13/2009 10:27:08 AM

I am seeing a bit of overreaction here on this diamond. GOG carries a wider array of diamonds than some vendors (which I happen to appreciate, makes things more interesting and gives customers a bigger choice), this is one of them. Yes, the clarity enhanced part is unusual for their stock, but this cut is not atypical of diamonds you might find in many jewelry store. To each his own! Variety is the spice of life.![]()
Very true. There''s a market for all types of stones, so why can''t they carry something other than H&A''s? Btw, GOG is not just an internet vendor, they''re a jewelry store as well, and not every one of their customers is looking for that perfect diamond.Date: 10/13/2009 10:27:08 AM
