I am redoing my kids rooms. We live in an old tudor with the original leaded glass windows. In terms of the curtain/drapes, can they go all the way to the floor, or as a rule should they be the same size as the window? The windows are about 45" long.

It doesn''t matter if they are much longer than the windows?

I agree, to the floor. Specifically, I think they should stop right before hitting the flooring. If they''re silk or something like that, a small puddle is recommended.

In the main living spaces or in the master bedroom, I''d definitely say to the floor, but in a kids room, that may not be practical. I would think about whether your kids would end up pulling on them or if they would get in the way when the kids are playing. Closer to the size of the window may be a better choice--you need to consider your situation.

Ditto, I can totally see a kid twirling him/herself up in them and then falling over, taking the whole rod, etc down with them. And this goes for older kids as well as younger!

Thanks Tacori and Burk! I will post when they are done. Probably one more week.

Thanks for your input laine - that is definitely something to consider.
My kids are older, and like Tacori said, should know better, although....

They still jump on the bed from time to time

I think they will leave the curtains alone.

These are the curtains for DS

Would your daughter require more coverage from the early morning sun?

I wish!
We live in Rochester NY. Not a lot of sun. And the tudor is dark.
