I have been doing my due diligence in shopping for the perfect ring. I''ve found a couple of Princess cut stones at JA that are pretty similar except for flourescence. Is this a big deal? The one that shows "faint" is my favorite so far due to its better symmetry and clarity. Also is a GIA grading report not as good as an AGS? should i keep shopping until i find an AGS stone?

Thanks

the rocks in question
the smaller one with faint flourescence

Welcome!

Faint fluorescence isn't an issue and you may not even notice it anyway, so no worries. I would ask for an Idealscope image of the diamond. With the second diamond, it isn't square, I would be most interested in the first one.

GIA are considered as reliable as AGS for colour and clarity grading, the main difference is that AGS grade round, Princess and some other shapes for cut quality which are considered to be a safer bet for performance. GIA only grade round diamonds at this time, there are well cut GIA diamonds out there but it may take extra work to find the best ones and a trusted vendor is very helpful for this along with Idealscope and ASET images, plus photos of the actual diamond in order to make an informed choice.

Also you probably know you could lower the clarity from VVS to VS and still have a clean diamond, but this is of course a personal preference and VVS is fine if that is what you want, or you like the diamond.

If you would prefer an AGS0 Princess then ask James Allen if they could suggest some examples.

Can't say anything about this as there is no IS or even a picture of the stone.

Please consider Lorelei advice. It is much easier finding a ideal cut princess with AGS0 cut grade then a shot in the dark with GIA specs stone. We really need an IS image to comment on the cut.

EDT:
I do not think JA carries AGS0 princess.

Here''s a few I would suggest looking at. They are the same size, diameter wise as what you''ve been looking at.

Bankwire is the discount.

And this one could be eyeclean, many SI1''s are.

And Winfield''s has this one, if you''d consider going lower in color. This would by no means look yellow, at all. And just a hair smaller, not a big difference.
