Lots of people have commented that varying degrees of fluorescence does not affect diamonds
It affects only a few % of diamonds but majority works fine..

If that is the case, why are blue fluorescence diamonds almost always have a lower value associated to them?

There''s an interesting part at the bottom of the article that caught my attention:

".......Some of those surveyed also mentioned that reductions in transparency or hazy affects also can be caused by graining that results from crystal growth, or clouds of very fine pin point inclusions that can sometimes be too small to see with a 10x loupe......"

I have a fascination with fluorescent diamonds and my own (limited) observations seem to correlate.

The following list of features are possible reasons for greater caution (but not complete rejection!).
While many diamonds have at least one of these features, it seems that the more of them that are inside a strong fluor diamond, the greater the chance of it turning nasty under certain light conditions.

SI clarity or lower
graining
twinning wisps
clouds

Basically; if the stone has one or more of the above features, inspect it carefully and/or ask for an expert opinion.
