Hi everyone,

I'm buying a ring for the first time and looking for your advice on the following rings.

I’ve narrowed the choices from 17 down to 3 choices and ranked them.

I’d love to get your opinion on which proportions will look best. I’ll be buying the diamond sight unseen with no return or exchanges and can only rely on these metrics.

Appreciate your help! :appl:

Commonalities: GIA graded, 0.8 carat ranges, excellent cut, no culet

1st Choice
Carat 0.81
Colour G
Clarity VS1
Dimension 5.93-5.98x3.71

2nd Choice

Star length 50
LGF 75
Crown height 16
Pavilion depth 43
Girdle Med to Slightly Thick, 3.5
HCA score low (2EX, 2VG)
AGA grade (1B)

3rd Choice
Carat 0.82
Colour H
Clarity VVS1
Dimension 6.03-6.05x3.7
Polish EX
Symmetry EX
Fluorescence None
Depth 61.1
Table 56
Crown angle 33
Pavilion angle 41
Star length 50
LGF 80
Crown height 14.5
Pavilion depth 43.5
Girdle Med to Slightly Thick, 3.5
HCA score low (3EX, 1VG)
AGA grade (1B)

Price difference compared to 1st Choice
2nd choice is 5.2% less expensive
3rd choice is 6.1% more expensive

1st choice:
major pros: good proportions, G colour vs H colour for 2nd choice
minor pros: low HCA score (3 EX, 1 VG), carat is 0.81 (not exactly 0.8 is preferred as off magic numbers means less gaming by diamond cutters)
major cons: SL is 45% (don’t know if this percentage is viewed negatively as a consideration – anyone has a view?), AGA (3 areas below 1A especially Crown Angle at 2A)
minor cons: faint fluorescence

2nd choice:
major pros: good proportions, lower price
minor pros: low HCA score (2 EX, 2 VG); triple excellence compared to 1st choice
major cons: crown angle at 36 may be too steep (any opinions on this?); AGA grade (only one area below 1A which is crown angle at 2B)
minor cons: dimension is a smaller than other 0.8 carats

3rd choice:
major pros: good proportions; largest dimension in the 0.8 carat choices; lowest HCA score (3EX, 1VG); AGA (2 categories below 1A but merely drop to 1B)
minor pros:
major cons: crown angle at 33 may be too shallow (views on this?) more expensive option at 0.8 carat category
minor cons: H colour vs. G colour for 1st choice

Can you get idealscopes for these stones? Request and post if you can.

Do you have these stones reserved? Post links to them if you do. Sometimes seeing them helps push as towards one
over the other.
