First off, I need to thank you all for you assistance. This is a great place to learn about what to look for when making an educated guess for a stone. I say guess, because you don''t get to see the stone on some sites. So, with that said, do you more advanced diamond enthusiasts out there beleive this is a good pick? I won''t recieve the stone for 2 more weeks and it is killing me to know if I chose correctly. I had difficulty finding a stone that had a table smaller in % than the depth whenever I went with a depth% below 68%. What do you all think?

It's tough to tell how that one's going to look w/out the crown height but w those dimensions, it may not have much fire.

Have you ordered the stone? If not, these are better proportioned:

ERD stone

WF stone (this stone is listed in the PS search engine for $5594 - you'd have to ask for the PS discount & pay in *cash* to get this price).

I did purchase it already. I have purchased it from Mondera. I receive delivery on it 9 Sep. I do have a 30 day, No questions asked return. So, if I don't like it, I can return it.

I am not sure what the crown height is. Can the company tell me the Crown height? It is not listed on the GIA Cert.

How can you tell whether or not it will have fire just by looking at the numbers? I did follow a few rules of thumb. No Depth over 72%, No table over 75%, L/W ratio below 1.05, I was also told to keep the depth in the mid to upper 60's if possible. It makes the stone appear larger. But I had difficulty finding one that had a smaller table. Does that really matter?

You BET it matters. You do not only want to know crown height but you'd really want to get the
crown height, crown angles, pavilion depth, & pavilion angles. While a smaller table and taller crown are no guarantee of superior optics you stand a much better chance at getting a better proportioned stone *with* a taller crown and smaller table.

It's interesting that you were told to look for a stone with not much depth because I prefer stones with a depth in the high 60's to low 70's. The reason is it's VERY important to at least keep the table equal to the depth. The best diamonds are cut to maximize the fire, brilliance, and scintillation. With a big table and small depth my guess is this stone won't have much fire (too small of a crown) and will have a lot of light leakage (too shallow for the light to reflect off the pavilion angles correctly because of the proportion with the other angles). Ask to see at least a Sarin report on your stone, and try to get an ideal scope image to see the light leakage for yourself. IMHO you can do better than this stone! Rhino is a true diamond expert so I would trust his opinion! Just go to his site to see how amazing stones with the right proportions can look! Website

Thank you all for your inputs. So, where we stand right now, without the crown height, crown angles, pavilion depth, & pavilion angles, it will be difficult to determine what the stone will look like till I get it? Just tell me that the stone has somewhat of a chance of being a dazzler.... I beleive in getting what you pay for. I did my research, talked to a lot of people and then made the final determination on my own. The cut is rated as a Premium cut with all the characteristics I was told to look for, Minus the larger table. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I am going to contact Mondera tomorrow and ask for the other specs on my stone. If they are as repretable as they claim to be, there shouldn't be any difficulties in providing me with the information. I will get back with you all as soon as I get it it. Thanks again.

I contacted Mondera today. They are sending me a copy of the Sarin report wihtin the next 24 hours. I'll post the other information on the stone as soon as I get it. I am interested in your opinions. Thanks again...

Very good. We look forward to seeing the rest of the data. I'm betting on a crown height less than 9%.
