These are photos of my first dress fitting. OMG, it was HOT under those lights! And it''s NOT a heavy thick dress! The style is from Reem Acra''s "Fall 2008" bridals...style #3828. Here we go....

Another view. You guys, HELP ME CHOOSE A VEIL!!!

FirstDressFitting314742.jpg

Oh, yeah....and WHAT in the world am I going to do with my hair?

FirstDressFitting314743.jpg

The dress is lovely - very elegant. You are so teeny tiny!!

I think the dress calls for long, wavy, romantic hair, perhaps pinned a bit back from the face with really pretty, ornate clips, and I''d do a long birdcage veil - the ones where its basically a giant square of tulle that drapes both in front and in bag.

It''s a gorgeous dress. By the time they finish the alterations it will fit you perfect. I agree that the style screams for some soft wavy cascading hair, and you certainly have the hair to do it.

You have such a rockin'' bod!!! Beautiful dress!!!

I am partial to veils, and unless you are too, I would say no veil. Your dress is so soft and flowy, and I don''t think you need one.

But if you absolutely must have one, I say a long, single tier one. Well, shorter or longer doesn''t really matter, but I think definitely single tier. Simple.

Wow.. what a pretty dress... and u have a fantastic figure! :-)

I agree with the wavy cascading hair..

FOR the veil... The one I want... I think will look perfect with your dress too..

its by erica koesler... and for some reason I cant find the exact one... maybe the salon could help you?? BUT it is identical to this one.. EXCEPT its swavorski crystals... and i think itd look FAB with your dress :-) click here

whats cool about the veil is that the stones were placed on both sides... so it ALWAYS sparkled! :-) goodluck!

Lovely dress! And you look fantastic in it. I especially love the front/bust area - how it cuts into that deep V. Very flattering!

I would say a low messy (well not messy but unstructured) up-do similar to second pic, the dress gives a beautiful line along the bust and you have fantastic shoulders and collarbones so I wouldn't want to mask that.

ETA: I think you look amazing in that dress :D

I think you should wear your hair down. The dress is romantic (skirt) and sexy (top). I think your hair should reflect that feeling. As for a veil... your figure and your 'look' reminds me of asscher_girl, her dress wasn't 'sexy' but it was romantic in the same way yours is, I don't think she wore one... and I remember I liked that on her. I wouldn't wear one with that dress, it doesn't say 'veil' to me.

I think that I am in love with your gown. Its simply STUNNING. Your FI''s eyes are going to pop out of his head when he sees you in that number! Its perfect. I really love silky, flowy romantic dresses. I tried on a Mon Cheri dress that was pretty similar recently and the ladies in the shop were nuts for it, as was my friend who was with me.

You do have a lovely figure and I don''t think that you need much in terms of accessories or a crazy distracting up-do. I don''t think that you can go wrong with loose waves cascading down your back or a unstructured chignon at the nape of your neck. As for a veil- do you feel you definitely need one? If not, I would go for a lovely clip that matches the style of the beading on your waist. If so, I agree with Lanie that single layer would be perfect. Fingertip length perhaps?

There was never a true-r statement!! Simply gorgeous!!

I like loose waves.

Wow what a lovely dress! (mmm...Reem Acra!) You look stunning. And girl , you have hair to die for...flaunt it! I agree with everyone else...long loose sexy curls, maybe with a few strands pinned back. I would do a very sheer single-layer long veil. You look gorgeous!

Med I''ve been waiting to see this on you, and holy moly!!! I agree with Deelight about the low ''messy'' bun look. But cascading curls would be great too. Decisions!

Med its so great to see you posting. You were sort of absent for a while

You look fabulous. I really like your hair down to be honest.

You look stunning in that dress! I think a half up half down style with curly waves and your long hair would be perfect for your dress.

you look stunning!!! did you go on a wedding diet or are you naturally that thin? I workout daily but I really want to drop a little for my wedding (in November...so I have some time!)...anyways please let me know what you did!! Gorgeous dress! I think I would also do loose curls.

It looks absolutely to die for on you Med! Your hubbie will faint when he sees you walking up the aisle! I agree with Deelight in that a messy bun would look fab.

that dress is SO pretty

i also have to agree with the long wavy hair, it will be to die for!
i also like that you are brave enough to wear a dress with some cleavage :)

I''ve always been this size (OMG, it was TERRIBLE in high school -- I had ZEE-RO boobs, and in jeans, tees and sneakers, I got mistaken for a BOY from behind...at age 17

)

it''s genetic. See the thin lady in the jeans in pic #1? That''s my Mom, dude. She''s 62, and she met me at the bridal shop AFTER a Chinese buffet lunch w/ some of her co-workers.

Thank ALL OF YOU ladies for your compliments!!!! I love the support and candor on this site!!

The crumb-catcher needs to be "released" (there are a couple of flimsy stitches holding it close, and smushed against the bodice--I guess to keep it upright during shipping/storage?) Also, it will be higher up on the chest (so, Smurfysmiles..., it''ll still have some cleavage, but it won''t be THIS low...I think the beading is heavy and pulling it down. And it''s too big, I guess ALL wedding dresses are too big when they first come in)

The veil...I''d love to go without, and I think I will for the majority of the evening. But my Mom is BIG on the whole veil thing for walking down the aisle. I''m her only daughter, and the last kid to get married, so I think I''ll do a simple drop veil for her, and then I''ll remove it for the reception.

I''m truly, truly torn about the hair. I like the "low, loose chignon/bun" idea and I like the cascading curls idea (I''ve never tried curls before!) I''ll definitely be playing with both and posting pics

Thank you all again for your suggestions and your compliments!!

Just wanted to throw another hair idea in the mix that could work wonderfully as well with your hair, a Grecian inspired braid - almost goddess like with loose curls around your face.

Va-va-VOOM! Cleavage central! I love every bit of that dress (and secretly wish I could wear one like it, but FI would have a heart attack). You WEAR that dress, girl. Rock on!

I looooo

ove Reem Acra''s flowy dresses. Is that silk chiffon? Your dress is gorgeous - dreamy, romantic, sexy and totally rockin'' on you!

You and that dress look just like a piece of heaven...utterly gorgeous!!!

WOW! Beautiful bride! That is a killer dress :)

I think your hair would look amazing if you channeled Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany''s." This style, specifically. The dress is just so elegant, and an elegant dress calls for elegant hair

Med - that dress is stunning. You look like a model! You are so beautiful - are you Persian? I vote on your hair down in loose curls/waves. You have gorgeous hair and you should show it off! I also think because the neckline on the dress is so low that your hair down would dress it up a bit without the need for a lot of jewelry (or any).

WOW! That dress is beautiful and it looks absolutely breathtaking on you! Holy smokes! Hair...hmmm...I think that it would look great in loose curls or in the Audrey Hepburn style. That was no help...That dress is going to blow everyone away, you could shave your head and go out with a mohawk or something and still look like a million bucks!
3.gif
Ok, I wouldn''t do that...if you aren''t going to have a veil I''d say go with your hair down but if you do have a veil I''d go with an updo.

Mediterranean, I''m sorry I missed this thread before! Gorgeous, gorgeous dress, and it looks amazing on you.

I am extremely jealous of your gorgeous long hair--show it off! I think you should wear it down with soft waves or curls. It will look beautiful no matter what you do, though.

WOW, how the heck did I miss this thread?! First of all, you''re gorgeous ! In all honesty, veil, no veil, hair up, hair down, it doesn''t matter ''cause you''re going to be one STUNNING bride! FWIW though I like the suggestions you''ve been receiving about wearing your hair down in a more flowy, romantic style.

Med - You are fabulous and are certainly working the heck out of that dress! Looks amazing ... what a wonderful choice! Just beautiful! I think that any way you decide to wear your gorgeous hair will work.
