Finewater Gems Meets Victor Canera

My beautiful sapphire from Gary at Finewater Gems has finally been set! It’s in a Victor Canera setting and I could not be more pleased!!! When I took the ring out of its package, my first thought was that it’s “stunning.” The word “stunning” is not typically an adjective I use, but it’s exactly right for my new ring. It’s STUNNING.... it’s so sparkly..... it’s absolutely beautiful!!!

When I saw pictures of VC settings while contemplating my purchase, everything looks so big and blown up so we, the viewers, can see the fine details. In person, everything is so tiny and so delicate. Truly delicate! It reminds me of miniatures in a doll house. It’s a ring I want to keep looking at because I admire different things each time. I’ve heard VC does amazing work and now I know he does!

Sapphire is 7mm round. Heat only. I love my sapphire! It’s the perfect color for me. Gary was very helpful when I was choosing it a year or two ago.

Setting is platinum. Size 4.75. Communication with VC was excellent. Completion time was 3.5 weeks.

Thanks everyone! Yes, the setting is quite unique. I just love that about it! I wouldn’t change a thing about this ring. I had Victor engrave the side and I’m really glad I did. This setting typically does not have engraving.

@carbonfan I’ll post more pics! Thanks so much! One day (year) I hope to get one more VC ring. I realized it’s just the sort of ring I love with the hand forging and tiny details.

Yes! That was me! I definitely worried about it up until the moment I saw my ring. The prongs are truly tiny! In pictures it’s almost all I see because I’m so focused on them. But in reality, seeing the ring as a whole and with the prongs being tiny.... it’s SUCH a non-issue!!!

Yes he does! I’ve focused more on the setting in this thread, but without such a beautiful gem, it just wouldn’t be the same. If and when I ever buy another colored gem, my first stop will be with Gary.
