Hi to everybody,

I'm sorry about my english, this is not my mother language as I'm french so I will probably make a lot of mistakes... so there is my story :) I'm reading a lot on this website mostly since 2 weeks now, and I'm decided to ask for your help.

I will turn 40 in september, and my gift will be a diamond necklace. I'm looking for a loose diamond only because my jeweller (local) will do the necklace with my own gold.

So, I need to found the perfect diamond for 1300€ with delivery and VAT included. I can't order from james allen because it's really too difficult with customs things, but I'm able to order on the french dedicated Blue Nile website, or on 77diamonds... or on every website you trusted in europe :)

I tried to look on the ideal cut first ! Heart and arrow... I look on the HCA too but I can't finish without your help, because for a pendant it's maybe more specific than a ring ? whith shadows? shallows? :)

My final selection are :
1/ D VVS2 with NO ideal cut, but with a good score in HCA
https://www.bluenile.com/uk/fr/diamond-details/LD08570901
I like that the color is D, VVS2, and the price!
Price: 1214.40 €

2/ F VS 1 with ideal cut
https://www.bluenile.com/uk/fr/diamond-details/LD08881839
I like the heart and arrow, I'm worried about the inclusions
Price: 1142.40 €

3/ F VVS2 ideal cut
https://www.bluenile.com/uk/fr/diamond-details/LD08627159
I don't know...
Price 1276.80 €

4/ There is this one too, it's difficult on 77diamonds because they don't give the ideal cut, I had to calculate myself but look on it? ... http://fr.77diamonds.com/certificateReport.aspx?reportId=1253841602&carat=0.40
certifcate here http://fr.77diamonds.com/certificateReport.aspx?reportId=1253841602&carat=0.40
There is no pictures of it :(
Price 1438 € this is a lot... but the score is 1.0

Do you think one is best than one other?

Thanks for your help :) Sorry for speaking in Euros ! :)

Best regards,
Eloan

I can't get your links to work unfortunately.

With your budget I'd strongly suggest dropping in colour to H or I. Clarity of SI1 should be fine as people are not looking closely at a pendant stone!

You can get around 0.5ct by doing that which is a good size for a pendant. I can only see prices in £ on Blue Nile but here's one in your budget, photo is above, here's the stock number, LD08351470. There are plenty of others!

Thank you !

For my links you need to click on SHIFT before click on the link ! :D

I don't choose a 0.50ct because I think it's too big for me... I prefer a 0.40 ct :D

Hopefully someone will be by to help. I don't have time... going camping. Independence Day for the states is Tuesday, so this is basically a holiday weekend, good luck.

Both diamonds are very pretty. With the I you'll get a slightly larger diamond and the F you'll be in the colorless range. I guess it depends which is more important to you - size or color. What style of mounting are you going to use?

I also think both of these are very nice diamonds for a pendant. I like the basic solitaire mountings too. Between these two you just posted I'd probably go with the H since it is cheaper and slightly larger. That's saying something from me - most of my diamonds are colorless.

Good luck!

What mean colorless? Is it mean H I J ? :)
Or D E F ? :)

Colorless is D-F, near-colorless is G-J. A GIA H will absolutely be white at a half-carat size.

Thanks for your answer, i'm lost...

I found an IDEAL cut not signature who sound very good to me with a HCA of 0.9 but in this case...why this diamond is not a SIGNATURE ?

Do you think it's a good deal ?
https://www.bluenile.com/fr/diamond-details/LD08610601
HCA is 0.9 :)

thanks again :)

Not ideal by AGS standards. For me a crown at 33.5 is kinda shallow and the pavilion is more suited for a higher crown.
