Finally set my demantoid

So I'm pretty slow when it comes to getting projects going. I have to look at everything,change my mind about 20 times, think about a new project,go back to thinking about the old project-well you get what I mean. So I picked up this demantoid back in November. Wasn't quite sure how I wanted to get it set. I wanted the garnet to speak for itself. I lucked out and picked up a pre loved jbeg Sohpie setting in palladium that just happened to fit the stone. The garnet is 1.95 tcw and is Nambian.

The photo doesn't capture the sparkle. I will try to get one of my kids to help make a video. After I picked it up I had to go run errands. I was in a parking lot and it was very sparkly.I thought I was going to get hit by a car because I was standing in the middle of the parking lot staring at it. I was going to try to take a picture but figured the parking lot wasn't the best place to do that.This ring is the first piece of jewelry representing each of my children. It also happens to be my birthstone. I have an aqua for my March child I want to get set so that will be my next project .I also have children that were born in June and July.Thinking stacking half eternity bands ruby/diamond and alexandrite/diamond but not sure. When my kids were born push presents wasn't even a concept. I didn't want a traditional Mother's ring so I decided I wanted a different piece of jewelry with each child's birthstone.

Here is the demantoid with most of my other colored stones.l-r spinel,tourmaline,demantoid,spinel,rhodolite earrings and then I believe pink sapphire earrings. I have had those forever(over 20 years) in my jewelry box and just had them repaired.

As much as I love a halo this stone was not calling for one.I looked at so many settings in person and online. Almost set it in a 3 stone.But this was the right setting for me for this stone.Thanks for all the compliments.
