So, having this shipped for an appraisal...and if the specs all match...it looks to be the one. I feel like I have done my homework..but still not sure I can properly understand the aset, hearts picture, etc. Does anyone see any red flags here? I would appreciate all advice to take the second-guessing edge off.

Thanks and Happy Holidays.

not an expert, but definitely no red flags. that looks great. you could ask to make sure it is eye-clean to your specs (specify a particular distance?) but that would be the only thing. I bet it is eye-clean. it looks like a gorgeous stone!

I can't zoom in on the hearts (or the aset for that matter)? And slg makes a good point about confirming eyeclean to *your* specifications.

Sorry Yssie...not sure why you can not zoom in? It seems to be working fine on my computer. Anyone else having trouble seeing a close up of the aset, hearts, etc?

As far as clarity....that has been a main concern throughout this process. The inclusions in this stone are white and I would consider it eyeclean from the normal 12 inches, etc. Knowing where the inclusions are...and giving it a really close inspection from certain angles...i can find a thing here or there. Initially, this really bothered me and I've been trying to decide between SI1, VS2, VS1 ever since. In the end, guess my thinking is the stone is gonna be eyeclean to 99.9% of people who see it...and has a great upgrade policy if we ever decide to take a step up in color, clarity, etc???

you said you would consider it eye clean from 12"...did you see it in person?

Yes...went to Houston and saw quite of few of Brian's in house stones. He had this 2.95 G VS2 stone that was absolutely amazing....yet too much $$$ for me! Anyway, back to my stone.....yeah, i think it would definitely meet the common definition of eye-clean. Of course, i eye-balled it to death from super close range..and was able to find some inclusions. Really bothered me at first...but after some time in contemplation...think that maybe i can live with the clarity.

What do you guys think? If the stone is eye clean...would you consider it a winner?? And feel free to be critical here...when i post my pics later of the purchased ring is where i'll be looking for the "it's beautiful" posts! :D

Thanks all.

well, it sure *is* beautiful ::)

I really think whether or not you're okay with it depends on you, and if your tolerance tailgates your preference. Me, I'd be fine with it, even okay with being able to see them close-up, but many don't want to see anything in their diamonds, ever. I should be honest though, at least for me, when I strongly suspect that something will not be 'mind clean' but I try it out anyway - it's not usually a success

Thanks Yssie. I know exactly what you're saying. I think Si1 will be perfectly fine with me as well...guess I'm just hoping my girlfriend won't be able to see anything.

Plus, I think my ideal stone is around a 2.4 carat, G, VS1....and it has been so hard to find one....especially at the specific vendors from whom I would prefer to purchase the stone.

Any other comments or suggestions is much appreciated.

Beautiful stone...BGD are pretty picky about their stones...looks like a winner to me!
