I think this is my first SMTB thread since I brought my solitaire home about two years ago!
It has been a long time without something sparkly. But worth the wait, I am so in love with this recent find!
I have been wanting a classic 5 stone ring forever, and I finally found one that fit my pathetic budget and my perfectionistic side
It has five, perfect, very white, round, and pristine, classic and perfectly proportioned OECs set in what I think is an authentic mount from the same time period as the diamonds. I would guess 1910 to 1915 based on the make of the diamonds, but the mount may be newer... Hard to tell. If any real experts can tell if the mount is a period piece or a reproduction please let me know!
Anyway, each diamond is 4.2mm, which likely equals about .33ct each in my experience with similar stones. So I think the ring is about 1.5 to 1.65cttw.
The suite is so well matched it kind of blows me away. And only one diamond has a microscopic nick on the girdle, all the others are in perfect condition.
I am so happy to share this little treasure. I don't even have good photos yet but I can't wait!
When I bought it I planned to reset it later in the year for our 10th anniversary of meeting, but I kind of like the setting it's in now!
