I will be purchasing an engagement ring for my girlfriend at the end of the week and need some help deciding on the diamond. I have done lots of research and finally narrowed down my choices to these two diamonds.

1.508 Carat I VS2 Brian Gavin H&A 1.5 HCA score

and

1.543 Carat I VS2 ACA H&A 0.7 HCA score

Is there anything that puts either of these diamonds ahead of the other? Also, has anyone had better experiences with Brian Gavin Diamonds or Whiteflash.com? I have seen both sites highly recommended here on the forums.

Thanks for all the help and information.

Hi gmflash,

Both look great and I believe personally you could pick either and be delighted. It depends on which diamond you prefer and or which vendor, both sellers are excellent and you would be in safe hands with either. Which one is your gut telling you to go for? Do you have a preference?

Both are gorgeous!!! What about the setting? If one of the vendors has the setting you want, I would go with them. If not, then JMHO, but since they are both pretty much the same price, clarity and color, I''d pick the slightly larger one.

Lorelei, I don''t really have a preference. My gut feeling is leaning towards the Brian Gavin diamond. When I saw it, it seemed to jump off the page at me. I have also been a little annoyed with the whiteflash sales people. They are continually calling or emailing and wanting updates. This can also be viewed as good customer service, but I am seeing it as a little pushy.

ImpatientOne, I am waiting to here back from a jeweler about a custom setting. If things fall through with the custom setting I am going to go with the Brian Gavin "Novela" setting and will purchase the diamond from Brian Gaviin also.

Thanks to both of you for comforting me that I can''t go wrong with either diamond.

You are welcome and you really can''t go wrong with either but if you lean toward the BG diamond then that might be the one to get.
