This diamond is for an engagement...I hope to propose on Valentine''s Day. :-)

THANKS!

Are the prices for the two similar?

Prices being very similar, I think I would go for the H color. Prices being more than $150 different, I would go for the cheaper one.

Yeah, the prices are nearly identical....Thanks for the suggestions! :-) (Keep ''em coming though) ;-)

if the prices are comperable, they are pretty much the same size..i would go for the H as well.. i like the numbers just a tad bit more..and even though the I has flour, i still go for the H, so long as the SI is eye clean.. good luck!

I too would go for the H color.

Both diamonds seem very nice to me though! I think either would be lovely.

Greetings anp1978,

I am slightly concerned about the girdle thickness. The stones may have been cut to maximize weight at the cost of chip resistance.
Other than that, the H appears to be the best bet IF it is truly eye-clean AND it is less than approximately $4,200/ct.
If not, you might consider continuing to look.
Good luck!

Thanks so much for all your help!!!! I am buying the stone online, so I am nervous about the "H" Stone being eye clean, so I am leaning towards the slightly smaller stone with VS1 clarity....

If you are concerned about the H being eye-clean, call up Blue Nile and ask them to look at the stone for you.

Also, Blue Nile has a good return policy and they are quick shipping things out. Even though you are planning to propose on V-day, I think you have enough time to order the H and receive it -- see if you like it, etc. If you decide you want the I instead, you can return the H, order the I, and I think you will still have you ring well ahead of V-day.

The two stones should look identical in size, as their diameters only vary by .01mm (not visible to your eye.) I would talk to BN and get their opinion on the eye-cleanness of the H, and have them compare them color-wise, side by side. If you can swing it, I would consider buying both and letting your eyes be the final judge. BN has a good return policy.

Ditto.... BN has an "eye-clean" grading code for SI stones. It''s a range of numbers or letters, but I can''t remenber. Ask them to explain it to you and ask them for the grade.

Thanks everyone for your help, I''ll be sure to let you know which one I choose... :-)
