Thanks for all the help already, I really appreciate it!

It is down to 2 round brilliant diamonds (maybe 3, but lets stick with these 2 at first!)

AGS Ideal
2.35ct H VS2 (though vendor lists as 2.39)
w 8.64 x l 8.65 x d 5.28
61.02% depth
56.08% table
34.07 degrees crown
40.79 degrees pavillion
HCA 1.0

Very small cloud inclusion in center, couldn't even see it with the loop.

GIA Excellent
2.46ct H VS2
w 8.71 x l 8.74 x d 5.29
60.07% depth
58% table
35 degrees crown
40.8 degrees pavillion
HCA 1.6

I have the GIA report that I am trying to attach. Also can't see inclusions with loop, though there are more of them if that matters.

Both are very similar in price (we can get a friends/family discount on the 2nd stone).

I would love to hear any thoughts!! Thank you!

They both look great just from the numbers! Since you have seen them apparently, does one look better to you than the other? I guess if maximizing the size is your objective, then the second one would win by just a little! Even though it isn't much difference, 2.46 does sound bigger than 2.35.

Hi diamondseeker!!

I really wish I could have seen them next to one another! One was at GOG and the other was at a place that was recommended to us by a friend (and has been the family jeweler for years!). GOG is just incredible though, I mean you know you are getting a good diamond there and they are crystal clean and they are really so thorough. The 2.46 may have sparkled a tiny bit less but it may have been my imagination because it was different lighting, different place. If they were right next to each other, would I have gone for the bigger size or the bit more sparkle?! I just don't know.

The 2.46 will be a bit less expensive.

Its good to know the numbers are good on both!!

Here is the GIA on the 2.46. I can't seem to embed it in the post?

Not sure if the feather is an issue...I've read mixed things.

I am not fond of feathers, but I doubt it would be a serious problem in a VS2. However, I do love Good Old Gold as my diamond came from there, so I highly recommend them! That would actually sway me toward the other stone (especially since I don't go for the largest size stone when choosing for myself anyway).

I hear ya and I was about to go with the other stone because I was so impressed by GOG!

And then the other jeweler gave us a really good, unexpected trade in price for the stone we have now. So now the pendulum swings the other way!
