I''ve never bought a diamond before, but I''ve looked around and I found this: http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/5054/

I used the pricescope ICA, and this diamond scores a 1.3, which seems well enough.

It''s an engagement solitaire, to be set in platinum. I went with a G, VS2 to make it as clear as I could afford while being assured it is eyeclean. Could I go to a VS1 and still have it be eyeclean? What do you think about a G vs H?

Any feedback appreciated.

Thanks!
Brian

That looks like a great stone. Just to be clear, VS1 is higher than VS2, so it most certainly would be more likely to be eyeclean. But you can DROP to an SI1 and often have eyeclean stones if that is what you are asking.

And a well cut H is totally fine for most people unless you are really color sensitive.

PS, hope that was you that put it on hold!

I agree with Neatfreak completely. I have an "H" and I can''t see any color. I used to have an "I" and I could see the color. Good Luck, and please keep us posted!
