i have been reading your threads regarding find a band to wear with your (gorgeous) three stone ring and it seems i am following in your footsteps. i just had my 1ct princess set into a three stone and it''s similar in size to yours...... i have a 3mm plain band that i can wear with it, but like you i find that the 2.5mm is the best match (so hopefully i''ll get one of those for ''plain band days''). however, i originally wanted a shared prong to go with it, but that scratched it up pretty bad in less than a day!

so now i am considering channel set because i would still like diamonds and bling. i see you had yours paired with a channel set - could you tell me the specs on it? what width? size diamonds? your ring also looked nice with the bead set eternity, was that WF''s stock bead set eternity or did you go custom?

finally, may i ask which band you wear most often with your ring? which do you love most?

Hi RD!

I do have a .55ct half eternity princess channel band from Blue Nile (this one: http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=2692&catid=8&filter_id=0&nav1=band_channel.asp&page=1&show_all_pages=1&col=2&row=4&pos=11&set_shape= ) that my DH gave me for our first anniversary, 4 years ago.

It''s about 3.0-3.2mm wide but since it is more square than rounded, it doesn''t seem that wide and is a great fit with the three stone! I''m actually having my diamond band soldered to my three stone because the half eternity not lining up straight was annoying me and even though 2.5mm plain is a GREAT match, I never really wear the two together!

I wear my plain band for traveling, hands-on kids things (soccer), gardening, etc. My plain band is actually 18K white gold (this one: http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=3312&catid=126&filter_id=0&nav1=band_channel.asp&page=1&col=1&row=1&pos=1&set_shape= ) because I didn''t want to spend a lot of money on a ring, not knowing how much I would really wear it. I actually wear it a lot, so I may get the same ring. but in platinum.

And the plain band by itself. The Whiteflash bead set eternity ring, I actually wore very little, so I consigned it to Pearlman''s last month (and it sold fast!) because it was sitting in my jewelry box, not being worn. It was a lovely ring, more shimmer than sparkle and about 2.5mm wide. It was also a great fit with my three stone, but because I am sentimental about my Blue Nile wedding ring, it''s what I always paired up with my e-ring. I wear on my ring hand my plain band, so my WF ring was literally sitting in a box, not being worn!

It really needed to be with an owner who would actually wear it.

YAAAYYYY! thank you so much for responding! everything you said was very helpful, that''s exactly what i was looking for. because of your feedback, i have a better idea of what direction to head in, and that makes a world of difference. especially since i won''t be buying from a B&M most likely. i was thinking the beadset was the perfect width (and you confirmed it is 2.5mm which i agree, looks just right with three stones our size) but that the channel set had a nice look, and more diamond. i have found some channel set princess bands that say they are 2.5 - 2.7 so now that i have your point of reference, i think i''m going to call about those. so long as the metal on the sides is thin, like yours, that might be just what i am looking for! and if that doesn''t work out, it''s good to know a channel set at 3mm wide looks great too!

amoungst other things, i was debating between full eternity and 3/4 or 1/2 and hearing you mention yours spinning reinforced that i really do want full eternity!

that''s so sad about the WF band, it looked so pretty in your pics! but it''s always nice when good jewelry finds a happy home!
