Wow. I have to say I'm surprised at the number of emeralds. I thought it'd be up there but not in the lead. It certainly has a classy look though.

I chose a pear, oval and cushion as my top three but frankly, I'd be peachy delighted with any larger stone. My mother has always wanted a large heart. I hope she gets it one day... Obviously so I could borrow it sometime. Haha

Ooh, although Emerald isn't in my top three necessarily - I have drooled over this 3.4 ct yellow emerald ring on DBL's site for what feels like forever. It sold a long time ago, but sometimes, I can't stop dreaming about it. It's so beautiful, so rare to get a coloured step cut, and so beautifully proportioned! What a ring! I wish there were more pictures.

No way!

Was it as ridiculous in person, as it looks in the pictures? It looks like such an amazing ring. I hope the owner wears it often.

I think the emerald cut looks amazing in a heavier weight. Very regal.

These are dreamy shapes for larger than 2.5 carats! Loving the E/W Emerald especially!

Oh geez, Mayk. Those pictures are amazing and totally satisfy my curiosity as to how it'd look on the hand.

That large pear is ridiculous too. Just wanted to post it in this thread for everyone to oogle at.

Honestly I'm a fan of asschers and EC's in larger sizes but that is simple because they face up so small. You need a larger size in them. 8)

Cushion or EC or OEC for me.

I'd do a I knock out oval with antique faceting too.

It depends in what I wnted in the ring as a whole. I like ECs as solitaires best so if I wanted a solitaire, I'd get an EC. If I wanted something deco or vintage I'd get an OEC. And cushions I adore as split shanks.

If it were me, I'd go to several stores with excellent selection and try on EC solitaires, deco rings and spkit shanks, then see what looks best on my hand. Many of the styles I've loved on here have looked terrible on my hand. And I'd also see what I could find available. Right now Grace has an OEC I'd sell an egg for, for example. And a few months ago I found the perfect EC.

ETA: I just saw my earlier response. LMAO. At least I am consistent!

Yes I still love the shapes I posted in 2014. However I will add that I LOVE all things antique so in all the shapes I prefer the antique version. Give me a chunky antique pear, an antique emerald cut, oval, cushion and an OEC and I will be in bling bliss.

Another vote for EC. There's something so ephemeral about a huge, glassy step cut. swooooooooon

an AVR or a MRB, I'd have to compare.. spending all that money would mean the most brilliance and fire and color for me. I'd love an emerald cut also. I'd take one of each actually.

My most fave shape in a larger stone is very predictable: modern RB, ie. my 5.318ct!! :naughty: :cheeky: :appl:

My next favourite shape is a large large stone, say 7-15ct, is an EC, either antique or modern. Been lusting after one for a while.

I also love a fat pear and have one now, 3.50ct.

Wouldn't mind a large oval at some point in the future, but am not really fussed. Maybe I'll get a pair of ovals like my friend's studs. She's got >2ct each L-M colour and she's put them in the most delicious intense yellow melee halo's and they're soooo divine!
