I was so excited in the grocery store today because I bought a whole bunch of stuff to make smoothies. Yum! I can''t wait to make a few this weekend. What do you put in smoothies?

My dad makes a really yummy one with chocolate protein powder, a banana or two, milk (either soy milk or skim), and ice. It''s so good! I''m not sure how healthy protein powder is, but I suppose it''s okay occasionally.

I bought blackberries, strawberries, bananas, milk, and Greek yogurt (Fage and knock-offs to compare).

I get the frozen spectrum blend at Costco (it's a bunch of frozen fruit). I mix that with some nonfat plain frozen yogurt from Trader Joes and some orange juice (we always get the gallons of Odwalla at Costco) and blend it up. Yum! I really like that you don't have to add any ice to it.

I have to say, I have a weakness for Jamba Juice's mango-a-gogo.

When I make my own, I like to put in yogurt, pineapples, mangos and strawberries!

ETA: In Costa Rica they had tons of fresh fruit smoothies. I LOVED the pineapple/milk smoothies! Yum!

I make smoothies from Pro Blend 55 Powder. If I use the vanilla powder I use two scoops, frozen strawberries and a splash of non-fat milk. {Actually I use just about any fruit}

If I use the chocolate power I use 2 scoops of powder, a dash of low sugar chocolate pudding mix, non-fat milk. The dash of pudding mix makes the smoothie thick. Just water and ice--too luquid-y if that makes sense.

I used to work out with a trainer {note the past tense

i either make a chocolate milk & banana smoothie or yogurt & banana (with a scoop of protein powder) everyday for breakfast - love it!

Do milkshakes count?

I'm not a big smoothie drinker, but on the rare occasion I have one it must have some kind of dairy - yogurt or frozen yogurt or milk or something. I'm not a huge fan of fruit, so it's not often that I'm craving a smoothie.
