Fancy Yellow Cushion comparison video

They both seem slightly brownish to me, but the one on the right seems slightly brighter, and has a larger face-up.

Ditto everything TL said. Neither one looks very well saturated imo.

+2 IMO, either will need a yellow gold cup to really "pop" as being yellow.

Thank you all for your feedback. If any of you don't mind, could you post a pic or two of good quality yellow diamonds with a link to the site you've found them on?

I found this diamond on James Allen and it looks like it might be a better alternative

There girdle is the only thing I'm skeptical about. I read extremely thick girdles are bad

Well you tend to lose a lot of face up value when you have a thick girdle, so I would avoid them. Cushions also face up small to begin with, but coupled with a thick girdle, is a "no no."

Did you check out

I'm not sure what your budget is, but there are many yellows on that site.

Hello TL,

I'm currently browsing Leibish, I'm trying to stay under 9k for the loose stone. I know a lot of people are saying stay away from yellow diamonds with leakage, I haven't found one yet on leibish that doesn't have leakage.

The Leibish site hasn't worked for me and my Mac since they changed it. Never fully loads the first page, there's big empty spaces. :knockout:

Have you tried Diamonds by Lauren?

Yes, I check their website daily as well. Their selection isn't as large as james allen and leibish which makes things a bit difficult. I have to be patient, I didn't think it would be this difficult to find a very good yellow diamond, but it is.

For FCDs, the primary C is colour, so go for the most vivid colour possible, then evaluate the cut to find one with the least leakage. If necessary, you may have to drop in carat weight a little.

The colour of the Leibish FCD you linked to is fantastic. Of course, nothing is perfect so there is some trade-off in the cut (a bit deep so it faces up smaller than it should).

Patrick, I too like the leibish FCD you just posted.
