My bf has told me he would like a nice watch as an engagement/wedding present. Sort of an "I have to buy you a ring, you should buy me a watch" type of thing. Seems fair to me.

The watch he wants is about $2k. He found a used (in new condition) one on ebay, currently going for less than 1/4 of the retail price. I asked him if he was sure that was the one he wanted and he said yes.

So I told him I may get it for him. His eyes lit up and he got SO excited.

And then I told him I would give it to him once I get my ring

Fair is fair, right?

I was planning on getting D an engagement present (probably a 50 inch plasma TV) but not telling him about it until after the proposal, perhaps I should mention it to him about it in passing to see how it goes down

Love your style! I would do that with my guy too. He is a watch collector. He has over 30. I would get him a really nice one but after I got my ring as well!

Hahah I am doing this too. My bf wants a Rolex, I guess that is fair but I am not giving it to him or showing him until I get my ring hahaha!!! Yes Fair is Fair!
