OK- I think this was discussed before but I don''t know where to start searching...

on the table down plot, what exactly are they demonstrating to you? I don''t think it is to demonstrate that inclusuions can''t be seen thru the pavillion..that doesn''t make sense to me..

so what is the significance when inclusions that appear on the table up plot, do not appear on the table down plot? None?

Plot "rules" of the GIA. Rarely enforced and often abused. GIA says it plots the clarity making inclusions. In other words, if they miss one, it didn't matter....It is an open game.

Here are the rules:

1. The pavilion plot is supposed to show marks that cannot be seen from the crown, but only seen from the pavilion.

2. Inclusions that break the surface of the pavilion AND are visible from the crown are supposed to be plotted on the pavilion AND the crown plot.

2A. Inclusions visible from the crown are to be plotted only in the crown plot provided they are not open on the pavilion.

Thanks Dave- ok, it's early for me LOL...so

if the crown plot (it's a vs2) shows some inclusions but the pavillion plot does not, they are "theoretically" not supposed to be visible through the pavillion...is that correct?

oh wait, I see. It would mean that they are visible from the crown and do not break the surface of the pavillion and may be visible from the pavillion?

thank you much!
