Hi everyone! I am almost ready to purchase this diamond , 1.08 6ct I SI1 ,eye clean, its an ACA, but the hca score is 2.4.

Should I be worried about it's brilliance? or all ACA should perform excellent regardless of hca?

what do you think of the ASET and ID view?

what do you think of the numbers below, depth, table crown and pavilion?

Please bear with me, just started learning about diamonds and still don't know a lot of things , so I need your expert opinion.

here's the specs:

depth: 62
table: 56.5
crown angle: 35
crown %: 15.2%
pavilion angle: 41
pavilion %: 77%
culet: pointed

here's the link:

Looks great.

thanks julieN :) just getting worried of the ASET and ID and the hca... I wanted it to be really brilliant hence I am choosing ACA.

ACA will be beautiful.

Do you have any specific concerns? seeking other options? or just seeking confirmation that it'll be nice?

Both, but based on the reviews on ACA from PSers it a very good quality. My untrained eye doesn't know how to look at the ID or ASET , just bothered that the HCA is over 2 that it might not be brilliant... I guess I just need reassurance.

Seems to be a very nice stone!

Also seems to be priced appropriately. Best way to determine that is to find comparable stones on the market.

Here is a comp, except this stone has fluor. This stone is a couple hundred dollars more than the stone you had linked, with a comparable cut:

1.087ct, I, SI1

If you decide that you're more comfortable with VS clarity grades, you can get this stone for about the same price as the stone you had linked, without sacrificing much size:

1.004ct, I, VS2

Thanks RockyRacoon! Thise stones are nice :) i was also thinking of BGD blue , i kinda like the photos of PSers whos have it. However, I wanna make sure that BGD's not hazy.

Among the three, which one is the best?

There is no reason to disqualify this diamond.

It uses 4 data points to make a rudimentary call on how the diamond "may" perform. It is a limited tool. You do not use the HCA on AGS0. AGS0 diamonds are evaluated by the lab based on the actual performance of the diamond. AGS0 trumps HCA each time. Even if the HCA was 10 it would be irrelevant.

BGD Blues are pre-screened. That's how they get the designation of the brand name. They have no negative effects from the Fluor. You don't need to double check. It would not be BGD blue if it had an issue.

Hi Gypsy! thanks for clarifying this. I spoke with the gemologist about this diamond, and answered all my questions about it. I am satisfied :) I think it's a winner.
Now, the problem is the setting, I can't seem to find the perfect setting that I like :( I like the pave shank like a French cut type or eternity but I want the head to look like a flower but not too overpowering. I like the lotus design by Leon Mege :) But he want me to get the stone from him too. WF says they will show me a design based on my specs.

If you know some flower or leaf design that is as simple as LM design, please send me a link ..please

Good news. :wavey:

When you are talking about a flower or a leaf design... you mean a solitaire with a flower or lead design on the basket? Or a halo that looks like a flower or leaf. I am pretty sure you mean a solitaire, but I want to confirm .

WF does nice custom work. So, if you are buying the stone from them, I would wait to see what they come up with.

yes, I am talking about the flower/leaf design on a basket like you will only see it when you look on a side view of the ring. I want to have a halo but I am not ready for that yet :)
Actually, LM offered a pretty decent quote but it's just not within the budget right now . So, I'm hoping to find the perfect setting for my eyes :)

I'm going to suggest you wait to see what WF proposes. If you aren't happy after that, (and remember it's going to be custom so you can tweak it however you want) then we can start looking for you.

You're re a great help to me Gypsy, thanks for making me feel better :)

Ok, so now WF quoted me for a setting , but that is not exactly what I wanted. The SA will ask the design team tomorrow for the quote of what I wanted.
I still need to have a plan B , or check other vendors for the look that I want.

Can anybody help me look for a simple flower/leaf design for a setting?

I'm usually one of the better "setting spotters". But I'm drawing a blank.

So do you want pave on the shank, or just a plain shank?

I don't normally suggest this, but... start a new thread for the setting style you want. You want a solitaire. For a round. With a leaf or flower design on the basket. And either a plain shank or a pave shank.

That is a very nice piece! Is there any other way to contact them, like by phone? I need to get their price with a pave on the shank. SA from WF emailed me the final quote on the changes that I specified.

Hmm. Well, I don't now. Can you just use the contact button to email them and ask them for their phone number??? They just launched that line. And the store she is working with is in the process of a re-vamp.

I did send them an email , hoping that I would get a reply soon. Do you happen to know if they will set a stone from a costumer?

Yes, I think they will do that!

Gypsy, do u know other vendor that have flower/leaf design that is cheaper than that like in 1,500 price range or below?

Thanks a lot Polished and Gypsy!!!!

Those Gabriel and co and Maevona are stunning!

Gabriel and co have nice price too. The Maevona is so unique, nice choices!

I just want to you know that I don't usually recommend Gabriel's pave. I haven't seen it for myself, and I have no idea how it will stand up to wear. So, if you buy one of their settings I hope you keep that in mind.

I do know the Maevona and the WF settings have proven quality.

Thanks Gypsy and Polished!

Now, the quote I got is a little out of the budget , and I know something has to give. I'm thinking of finding a smaller ct,ACA to expert selection. Is there any significant difference with the ACA and ES?

Where do you think I should compromise?
