Made a new thread as the last one is now a bit messy and think I've decided on buying this one unless experts can tell me why I shouldn't!

Round Brilliant (GIA)
Measurements
5.22 - 5.24 x 3.18 mm (diamdb says it looks its weight)

0.53, D, VS1 (twinning wisp, knot, feather) Would assume eye-clean being a VS1 and the feather unlikely a durability issue.
cut ex, polish VG, symmetry EX. (made a mistake on this on the last thread, correct here though).
HCA EX EX EX VG - 0.8

Depth 60.7
Table 57
Crown Angle 32.5 (my main concern... durability issue? Reduced fire despite HCA saying excellent?)
Crown Height 14
Pavillion Angle 41
Pavillion Depth 43.5
Star Length 50
Lower half 75
Girdle medium to slightly thick faceted
No Culet, Faint FL

Report issued in 2011.

Price is £1800 (this seems competitive compared to UK sellers - I'd rather buy in the UK)

No pics unfortunately.

I haven't seen the diamond yet but if you lot think the numbers are fine I'll be going to see it and probably buy it.

Thanks.

Anyone have anything to say about this? I know it isn't easy without the pics but if there is anything you can grasp from the above details that would be great ^^.

The 32.5 crown angle is probably fine because the girdle is on the thicker side.

Are you set on D color? You could easily go down to F and still get that colorless look, while going to a bigger stone.

Since it's not an AGS 000 everyone here is going to say they need idealscope pictures to analyze the diamond any further then you already have. One can find amazing GIA Ex stones, you'll just need additional metrics if you want the best light performance.

I personally don't like crown angles that low and would look for one between 34 and 35. Most ideal cut stones will have crown angles in that range. VS1 clarity is worry-free!

The fact is, the lower the crown angle is, the more likely you will see less fire/dispersion (colored light) than brilliance (white light). Considering the typical "ideal" cut has a crown angle around 34.5 or so, a 32.5 angle diamond will much likely be more brilliant than fiery. Is that bad? no - it's about preference in what you like your diamonds to look like. The HCA score is also being aided by a lower depth, as a 60.7% depth is pretty good and makes it face up larger, but sometimes this can help mask other parts of the overall score.

Thanks all for the replies, very helpful as usual :). I am happy to drop the colour to F, it's just the price difference was minimal so I figured why not ^^. I've decided to keep looking and hopefully find an F VS1 GIA excellent cut that is also an AGS 0 candidate. With UK sellers this could take a while but I'll just try to be patient :lickout:
