F1604FA1-76FB-4E3C-841D-9EB64AFDB4EA.jpeg Hi guys, I’ve been hunting for months for a lovely peach sapphire with no luck so far.
This popped up in my Instagram feed and looks ok but does have a chip on one of the front facets.

I’m clearly a novice. And wondering if there is any way to get the stone recut or polished? And, if anyone has dealt with this supplie in the past.

I’ll attach photos of the stone below. I can’t seem to attach the videos though!? F5200F34-8922-4F4E-88B3-A4C8947FF0E7.png
I’m on the hunt for a peachy pink light champagne-like peach sapphire in 2-3 carats ideally....

Thank you!!! B8101AD5-D596-4F66-9C93-9AE0AD49DE0B.jpeg

Unless it's very cheap I wouldnt buy it. It has a huge window and a chip, so I don't know how well it would fit as a recut.

I’m hesitant to go with it. Seems too cheap and I don’t want a damaged stone.

I’m also strongly considering this one but would love your feedback if you have the time?

It’s is from Sorbet Sapphire and 1.9ct. It’s $USD3,050.00
NB in the images with 2 it’s the Octagonal not oval cut

Thanks again so very much!

absolutely not. It has a MASSIVE window. Such a big window that it's see-through. That is very undesirable because it means the color is being completely lost, and that part of the stone will look clear. If you google image "gemstone window" you'll see what a well cut vs windowed stone looks like
OMG the price is laughable for that horrific cut. Absolutely not, that's essentially highway robbery!

Ok great that has confirmed my concerns. I thought it was a big window and was disappointed with these photos I received after it didn’t appear like this on their website.
I’ll keep looking! Thank you so much for your help yet again!!!

There are some lovely ones both loose and already set into a ring in another recent thread. Let me go digging...

OP has already seen those since she was the OP of that thread also. Just FYI!

I think I may give up on a Peach Sapphire!! It’s been 6 months nearly and I’m feeling like it’s not going to happen!!

Never give up!
I waited the best part of 15 years to find my Aquamarine ring.
I wanted it huge and I wanted it under $1,000.
Everyone said “oh, that will never happen, that’s a unicorn”
And one day.... and it came with earrings!

What is the weight of the first stone? Did you ask for the dimensions? With the dimensions, you can ask a cutter the possibility of recut. Based on my observation, shallow stone loses so much weight and the face up size after recut.

The first stone was 1.79 ct. I questioned the chip and he’s now come back saying he had it ‘recut’ and it’s now 1.7 ct and would I still be interested. I’ve asked for images so will wait and see!

Hi OP. There's a gem cutter on instagram named Bayoto who cuts a lot of sapphires, and other stones that have a peachy tone, that might appeal to you. I don't think he's a recommended PS supplier but I think some PS'ers have bought from him in the past with good experiences (I haven't). If you are having trouble finding what you want in existing inventories you may want to reach out to him and see if he has anything to your liking, or any rough he could cut from:

Oops, Haha. I didn't even see they were the same!

To the OP: Hopefully the recut works out!

No it takes ages, 6 months is not long to find something really specific. It'll turn up, just have to hang in there.

On that note. It would be a super good idea to learn how to spot a window before trying to buy another sapphire, and also the common treatments for peach coloured stones. I honestly currently think you might be a bit better off in the long run for searching a bit longer and getting more experience before buying something -- as a few of the sellers you are dealing with are really hawking subpar stuff off at top dollar.
