Every girl needs a pair of pearl studs, even the little ones

So I spent days of reading about pearl in this forum and decided that I need to put what I have learned into action. While waiting for Takahashi to come back to me after new year, I went to a local pearl supplier to try on different sizes. Don’t want to leave empty handed. I got my daughter and niece each a pair of akoya studs.

6mm for my 12 years old niece. They are super lustrous in real life.


4mm for my six years old daughter


I also quickly gave my existing pair to my mom to make room for the new items They are bought “pre-pearl-education”

It is very convenient but also make me doing a lot of impulse buying. Within 10 mins walking distance from my office, we have Harry Winston, Graff, VCA, Piaget, Chopard, Tiffany, Cartier, Chaumet, Mikimoto and many others. A lot of temptations.

A friend who is also looking for pearls sent me a page of another local pearl supplier. This is a pair of ten nyo equivalent akoya studs. What do you girls think? Should I go check out this shop? The price is in HKD.

I went to this supplier today. These are items I shortlisted. Prices are before discount.

Akoya 9.5-10 mm earrings with GIA cert. The salesperson said they are tennyo equivalent.





Pearl necklace with PSL Tennyo certificate 7-7.5mm. I think they are too big for everyday wear. The salesperson said they haven’t seen 6.6-7mm necklace for years. I will check with Takahashi and see what they have.

I pulled the GIA cert online and here is the record for the earrings.

That's before discount. They are giving me trade show price which is much more affordable.

Hi! The two pairs I got for my niece and daugther are from Rio Pearl in TST. The other shop I went in #9 is J Ocean, also in TST. I got that pair of earrings, they are very nice and I get complimented a lot.
