I am on the hunt for a setting, so I decided to order some samples from Eternity Diamonds. They have a cool try it before you buy it deal. I ordered 3 settings I thought I might like and they sent silver and cubic replicas. They ended up just sending me 4 because I couldn't decide between 2 of them. It was so fun to see them in person. I was going to go with one of the engraved three stones, but they said for a 1.25 carat round I would have to have it custom made. I did not want to go custom, so I decided not to order from them.

Very cool idea though I wish more companies sent out samples. There was one small glich. They send out a prepaid return envelope, however the postage was not enough and it got returned to me. So I ended up having to pay for return postage and resend it. Not really an big deal and maybe its because I live in Alaska and shipping is always more.

Well Anyways I thought you would enjoy the photos.

What a cool idea they have. I know I read of another one in hollywood...jean something...that does something similar. They only offer four styles i think though.

How neat! It's a shame that custom was the only option through them. I am not a fan of custom really either. I feel like just getting a stock or brand's stock ring is "safer".

wow that's a pretty neat idea! they're all really beautiful!! please post photos once you've chosen your setting!! :))

Hi jess. :wavey:

Thanks for sharing pictures of the settings. That's a great idea to try before you buy!

Was the "custom" ring a lot more expensive? Otherwise, what's wrong with custom?

Well I think custom work is a great thing. I just felt safer going with a stock setting. Their stock setting prices are very reasonable, so I assumed custom would be more. If I do ever decide to go custom I would go with a company that I know does a lot of custom work and one that I have seen more photos and heard more testimonial about their custom work. I have a couple companies in mind that I would love to have a custom piece from. I am just on a budget right now, so I was looking for a deal on a stock setting.

Could you please share what each is "called" on their site, they look beautiful on your fingers!! :D

I did this same thing. It was really neat and I fell in love with the Lauren setting which I'm pretty sure is the halo ring you tried. I didn't have any problems with returning mine though so I wonder what happened with yours. I asked them about doing a custom setting and the price was really close to the original cost of the setting so maybe you could just ask? Can't hurt unless you're dead set against custom. I really loved the three stone with the surprise diamond. They're all beautiful on you though so really I think you could carry any style ring you like. Good luck finding the perfect ring!

I think mine probably just got returned because I live in Alaska, but that was no big deal. It was so nice of them to send me all four. I didn't mind spending a few extra bucks on return shipping. They do have good customer service and I would reccomend them. I think their prices are very reasonable and their settings are gorgeous.

The halo is the Lauren Cusion Frame Halo. It is so pretty. Here is the link

The split shank is called the Gwen Diamond ring with split shank. Here is the link

The three stone with the suprise stone is called Victoria Diamond Ring. The engraving on their rings is so pretty and delicate.

The three stone without the suprise stone is called the Beatrice Round cut. This one was my favorite, but they were all beautiful.

WOW!!! Im so glad you posted these!!! i JUST ordered 3 rings yesterday & cant wait to show them to my girlfriend :-)

i also oredred the same Halo one as you....questions though, what was the size of the center stone on the sample ring? i assumed it was 1ct...am i correct?

The sample ct sizes that they send are the same carat sizes they say are in the settings online in the pictures. Yeah, the halo one is a 1ct. I LOVED that ring! I want it with a cushion cut diamond.

Sorry for the thread jack but, out of curiosity, which rings did you order Philly?

I also wanted to say, That I just heard from Yoni at eternity diamonds and he said they would customize the engraved three stone I like for no extra charge and give a 30 day money back gaurantee if I was unhappy. I should have asked before what the price of their custom work would be I just assumed it would be a lot more. So I think I will go with that engraved three stone and have them customize it. They really have gone out of their way to answer all my questions and concerns, so I feel good buying from them.

Grlsbestfrnd: Thanks for the suggestion. You were right customizing was not anymore.

BigPhilly: I think you will love that halo setting it is beautiful. What other settings did you order?

Awesome!! Thanks for the replies guys :D My girlfriend wants a Halo/frame setting so I chose the following:

http://www.eternitydiamonds.com/engagement-rings/diamond-engagement-ring/Lauren-Cushion-Frame-Halo-Setting-with-Comfort-Fit-Shank-(.22-ctw.....)-182.htm This is my #1 pick...she loved a similar like this a local shop here in Hawaii, but the center stone was an I1 with a huge cloud/crack right in the middle & I told her I would NOT get it no matter how much she loved how "blingy" it looked in the store...I would of purchased the setting but they would not do that...oh well...

Can you post pictures of yours too when you get them? I really love seeing the setting before you order.
