Hi,
My second set of CADs from ERD are here! I changed the back design so it would be more open for easier cleaning. Some of you mentioned that making the back diameter smaller than the front diameter might look nice giving it a tapered effect. Unfortunately ERD feels my diamond's proportions won't work with that so they left it straight. Any other thoughts on my design?
I am going with a 17.5 inch chain. Which do you prefer beaded or standard link chains? Any suggestions for chain thickness?
Thanks!

I prefer standard link chains, and I think thickness of the chain depends on the thickness of the neck. I also have problems with thin chains getting caught in my (long) hair, so that may be a factor for you too.

It's gorgeous I love the changes to the back. Beaded chains give off a bit of sparkle which I like, and tie in to the beaded milgrain detail on the pendant.

Are they going to hand apply the milgrain afterward? Is it just in the CAD for you to see what it looks like? Because cast milgrain is... well, not nearly as nice.

I love the design it as it is now! I think of beaded chains as more contemporary and this piece is vintage, so I would not do a beaded chain, personally. As Gypsy said, I'd want fine, hand done milgrain.

I'd go with a fine, thin chain since it will allow the pendant to stay centered. If you go with a beaded chain, make sure it's fine enough that the pendant won't get hung up between beads.
