Ok, so I thought I had my mind made up, but then I walked in and tried on a Claude Thibaudeau ring, and fell in love with it too! anyhow, could you please tell me your thoughts?

I have the honey channel band as pictured (I promise hand pics as soon as I received the ring tomorrow) I borrowed this picture from Honey22 (thanks!)

and I would like your opion on my custom Claude Thibaudeau inspired pictures with my modifications - to include my favorite color gemstone, and also to signify 6 years of marriage with the channel set stones in the heads.

or do you like the Sholdt with sidestones?

This is a 30th bday and 6th anniversary reset (early) so I have a few months

A few things I had already in my mind are the folowing:

-CT inspired ring is more versatile can pair it with many wedding bands later in the future whereas the Sholdt I will be limited but can't really wear it alone (this is OK as I have a wide wedding band that I will wear Solo)
-Do you think its too much going on with the sidestones along with the Honey band?
-Pros to the Sholdt is that I can wear it alone if I want to?

I'm so grateful to you all for stopping in to help with this

oooppss forgot the picture.

and this is Honey22 Channel set band... hope she doesn't mind me borrowing her pictures until I have my own. Thanks Honey! this is the wedding band that I will wear with either the CT inspired ring or the Sholdt ring to give you an idea of the wedding band.

The Sholdt is amazing!

I have a hard time envisioning changes to a ring so that could be influencing me

Is there any way you can try the sholdt once you get the honey band (and take piccies!)? I think they would look awesome together. I am so excited to see your pics of this band, I have been restraining myself from getting it ever since honey22 posted it!

I'm partial to the Sholdt, partially because its one of my all time favorites, but also because I love the shape of the semi-bezel and the flow of the head. I know, though, from your comment on the similarly "headed" sapphire ring going on in CS, that you seem to like the straight lines of the head.

The honey band is lovely. I think a lot of people wear sidestone bands and a band like the honey band together. I like the idea of the channel set stones in the head! The question may be, is that too much going on for you, with the hidden stone and the sidestones on the head and the band?

ETA: meaning the straight lines of the Thibodeau head!

Thanks Shimmer. unfortunately there is not a Sholdt''s dealer nearby me. But pearlmans said he might be able to send it my way since this was my original plan to reset into the Sholdt....hopefully he still can and I can definitely take some more pictures with it

I know huh? my thoughts too... but I have a solitaire currently right now, no sidestones but I didn't want to reset into another solitaire kwim? so I really could either do smaller sidestones, or have a plain shank solitaire with some extras on the head?

after reset after reset... I found elements that I liked and more me. So to sum it up:

No prongs,
like to view the Center stone
and a little extra oomph on the sides where ever either head or shank
what a girl to do when I like both curvy and straight lines

I totally understand. You love the lines of the band and the lines of the Sholdt but they don''t fit together so well. I guess I see the extras on the head of the Th. as good but not as having the same (straight lined!) beauty of the ones on the Sholdt. Actually, maybe thats it, that the Sholdt with sidestones has some of that linear crispness to it, even as it flows.

I think the Scholdt is fantastic. Especially if Pearlman's can send you a sample to check out. Much easier to know if you like something when it's actually on your hand.

ETA: I also think that the channel set stones on the Scholdt would coordinate well with the honey band.

Thanks Dani - I just sent an email to Bill to see if he can send me out a sample... maybe I''ll have to report back then.

I wished I had my camera yesterday when I tried the CT ring with a channel set there, it was very classic with a modern twist too... hmmm I might have to try and swing by again.

thanks Ebree--- more vote for the Sholdt

I started second guessing myself when I saw this CT ring...lol

Another vote for the Sholdt. It''s a very fluid and elegant design and I think it will match your honey really well. Plus the added bonus is that you may be able to try it out in advance.

Can you guess what I''m gonnas pick?

I think some of the other ladies are right, that having it on your hand will really tell you. The CT has had that chance, now the Sholdt needs it, too!

Ms. Halo Thank you!!!

Elle!!! I've been checking out all your pictures and everyone else's Sholdts...lol if I was interested in the plain one... I would totally go for it!!! thanks to your pictures and reviews.
36.gif
but of course I had to add the extra bling on the shank too and couldn't find any pictures on PS of the one with sidestones... Bill is sending me a sample...whoohoo!!

I'll report back with Pictures.

Novel- You are spot on Missy!!! I will have to give the Sholdt a chance too.

100% voting for the sholdt - LOVE IT.
30.gif

Well here''s a dissenting voice - I love that CT. Am I right in understanding that you would curve the parts holding the stone to form a half-bezel?

I really like the CT as is.

Could you make the surprise stone something to signify your 6 years instead of adding more sidestones?

Thanks Violet for your vote!

Angeline
, Thank you for chiming in, actually I would still have it a bar, but the top instead of flat it would be soften to be rounded hope that makes sense, if you look closely I cut and past the kite set princess onto the head, so that would be my modification, and in real life the CT head actually tapers outwards towards the bottom of the shank (maybe the illusion of the tapered shoulder made it appear that it the head tapers outwards instead
40.gif
)so my band would sit really far apart and a huge gap, I actually like gaps, so no worries there, however this would be pretty huge. Hmm I could just stick to 3 points diamond on each side for the surprise diamonds which would make it a ctw of 0.06 so that could be an option. The only problem is from the side view - not profile, all I see is the shank, then a big flat metal head so I thought to add something different would be kind of nice and still a bit sparkly.

My local jeweler has both the plain and side-stone-channel-set Sholdt. The channel set one is really lovely!! I can''t wait to see pics of the Sholdt and Honey together!

really--- I''m soooo jealous that you get to see them in person!!!

I love your Sholdt ring by the way!!!

Thank you Fairwayflunkie and SDL for your votes too

I really like the Sholdt, but honestly not with the sidestones in it. I think it could be too busy with the Honey band.

thank you Laila for your honesty, as I'm running into a predicament

love the idea of the Ct ring with the surprise stone.... buttttt, I love the fluid nature of of the sholdt, (however, I need a little extra bling - not center and can't sport a three stone look, but something just a tad extra) if not the sidestones,,, kwim? I guess you could say I like some sort of extra tiny bling touch and maybe the sidestones of the sholdt is a little tooo much
37.gif
dunno.

I really appreciate everyones input and thoughts on this, as sometimes its nice to take it outside your own mind and have others review and analyze

I vote Sholdt with no side stones too!!
30.gif
The simple setting would be beautiful with the full band!!!

Good luck with your decision!

Ditto.

The Sholdt is beautiful and I think it would go much better with your band. I''m really a fan if you can try the mounting on before you decide!

Thank you Callisto!

MGR- I really wanted to keep my scattered, and I covet your three stone and wanted to *copy* but alas, I tried on many three stone and it didn''t look too good on my finger
39.gif
DH didn''t like the scattered band too much with my current ering, so we swapped it out for this band. Anyhow I did a 720 on both my band and ering...
40.gif
ehh.. I really hope it works out. I won''t get the sample band until end of next week to test it out
