I posted this accidentally in Family & Home but wanted to post it here also.

Having never traveled outside of the U.S. (other than Mexico), I''ve never experienced English Tea. I know basically nothing about it... so please enlighten me! What time(s) do you have it? Are there special linens you use or a special place that you drink it? I want to know everything

Personally, depending on when you have dinner, I like tea between 4 and 4:30. I tend to have late dinners. If I had earlier dinners, tea time would be pushed forward.

For linens, I would use the same sizes that were used for lunch, taken in the receiving room. Cream, sugar, and clove-studded lemon slices are traditional tea accompaniments. I advocate having two pots: one for hot water, and a small pot or lidded bowl for the tea leaves, unless I am serving only masala chai, which will likely be eaten with samosas.

In actuality, I generally have tea at 3:30/3:45 in a styrofoam cup, made with tea dust in a bag, standing up, balancing a cup of tea and a plate of bagel chips and dip.

mmmm...tea...I don''t remember having tea in England because i was quite young when i moved from the UK to the US, but i have had tea in Hong Kong, same principle, around 3-3:30 pm, break out the tea with milk ( i actually had no clue that people drank hot tea with lemon until a couple of years ago...oi). There are also scones, clotted cream, little cakes, little sandwiches. It''s really up to you what you want. Why are you interested in English Tea?

I love tea. I always have coffee in the morning and a cup of tea in the afternoon. Usually around 3:00p.m. for me. A big hot steaming mug full. Yum!!!!

My favorite brand is Awake by TAZO, I also enjoy herbal teas too.
