So I've been doing a decent amount of research and diamond shopping for the past 4 months. I still don't feel overly confident with my ability to discern the best diamond value for my money.

$4500 for the diamond itself
Diamond
Round cut preferred
Princess also acceptable
Personally I'd like something between .75 and just shy of 1 carat.
She doesn't care about size or so she says, however, I'd like to get her the largest face I can while still maintaining value. I tend to buy myself nice clothing a lot so my obsession with quality has led me here and to several of the vendors on this site. Knowing what I know now, I couldn't bring myself to buy from a brick and mortar store. The best value definitely appears to be from online botiques.
I've found great cuts within my budget but I'm not as sure as to clarity/color and their affect on the appearance of the diamond.
Any help is greatly appreciated, I'd like to purchase the diamond and ring within the next month or so.
