Emerald Cut Hunt....

Hey,

I''m looking to buy a 1.75-2.00 ct Emerald Cut Diamond that has the proper dimensions on the cut most importantly. Color can be as low as G and clarity can be as low SI1. Budget ~$15-17K

I found a few but I''m not sure if the cut is right.

I'm a bit skeptical of si1 they need to be carefully checked to see if they are eyeclean.
number wise the first has more potential.

It''s hard to judge emerald cuts by numbers alone. Going by the photo, this one looks nice:

I have a J VS1 emerald cut and personally I would suggest going up on clarity and going down on color. Obviously its personal preferance however with step cuts I wouldn''t chance an SI1.

I''m sure the experts will have more opinions but until you''ve seen some of the H, I,and J''s out there I wouldn''t rule them out in favor of a lower clarity. IMHO of course.

That is my main concern with these special cut diamonds, I can''t see pictures of them.
