So I''ve been looking at a diamond:

and had a Sarin run on it which reported:
length is 8.17 Width 5.67 Depth 66.5% Table 70.8%

Per the GIA certificate
length is 8.18 width 5.78 Depth 66.4% Table 65%

why the discrepancy in the table? to be off 5% seems like a lot.

Thanks Chris

sarins are incredibly in-accurate on square/ step cut stones---there are corners to jump! i had three sarins run on mine--each were vastly different.

the GIA is measuring with calipers or whatever they are called.............

Correction.

GIA are measuring with Sarin.

Garry--so is the rest correct meaning the sarin results are more varied for squares and step cut stones?
