If you send someone an email to their work address but they changed their last name (and therefore their email address would change), would the server kick it back to you as not delivered?

I know that where I work the IT group sets it up so that it works with both names for at least a few months. That gives everyone a chance to adjust the addresses as necessary.

At my work, I believe that even if you change your name, the name you used initially is still the core e-mail and the new name is like an overlay. I was going to go into some long-winded explanation, but I think the IT people to avoid bounced e-mails in this type of situaton.
