EGL certified diamonds question

I'm looking into getting a pair of earrings that are at least G color, SI1 clarity. I'm thinking about purchasing EGL certified diamonds. I know there are some negative thoughts associated with EGL diamonds, i.e. EGL is more lenient with grading than GIA or AGS, and EGL could grade a diamond up to 2 grades higher in color and clarity than GIA/AGS.

I found several EGL diamonds that are D-E in color, VV2-VS1 in clarity, and in an "Ideal" cut range. My thoughts are that even if these diamonds are really F-G color and VS2-SI1 clarity according to GIA or AGS, they wouldn't be so bad because the price of these diamonds are less than F-G color, VS2-SI1 clarity GIA/AGS diamonds. So, would D-E, VVS2-VS1 EGL diamonds be a good purchase if I fully expect them to be G, SI1 GIA/AGS diamonds (but cheaper than real GIA/AGS diamonds).

What are your thoughts.
