I figure people on here have more experience finding gemstone rings on the internet than me, so maybe you can help.
I have been searching for an engagement ring, and had been considering a padparadscha sapphire center stone. Last week, I was doing various Google searches with the word "padparadscha." I also found a link to some pricescope discussions of the stones, which led me to the list of colored gemstone provides on this site and I followed some of those links.
At one point in this searching, I found a ring that was as follows: rose gold setting (rather delicate, simple), a padparadscha center stone (maybe a carat or less) and, on either side, small pink tourmalines cut in triangle shapes so the three stones looked like something like this:
----
Though the scale is off (pink tourmalines somewhat smaller relative to the center stone). At the time, I was struck by the thought that it was the most romantic looking ring I''d yet seen. However, at the time I had been looking for a platinum setting, so I kept searching.
I had assumed -- wrongly -- that if I wantd to go back to that ring, it would not be hard to find it again. I then spent hours searching more rings, but that one stayed on my mind. I finally decided if I liked it so much, I should just get it. However, I have not been able to find it again.
I have spent numerous hours over the last few days trying to find that site and that ring, without success. I''ve run every google search I can think of, followed hundreds of links. I''m not sure what exact search got me there in the first place. It is possible it was even a link I followed from the pricescope forums rather than something I found by googling.
So, I guess the lesson is, if you see something you love, act quickly or at least write down where you saw it. Having learned this lesson, I''d still love to find the ring, and I wonder if the collective eyes of the users of this forum may recall seeing what I''ve described and could point me in that direction.
If it helps, I do recall that the website where I found the ring had numerous rings that combined colored stones, and product listings were organized into about three columns (I know some sites list products in one column, and it was not one of those). I also think the price of the ring was somewhere between $500 and $1,000, but I''m not 100% on that.
I have realized one possibility: Maybe I HAVE found the right website, but the ring was sold and so is no longer appearing on there. However, while I do not personally know how quickly jewelry inventory moves, my hunch is that would be unlikely. Nevertheless, I do recognize it is possible.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Frinj
