I''ve noticed lately that every EC I see or diagram of EC''s, against other cuts, the EC always seems to have a much bigger table than other cuts. Does the ideal EC cut always have such a large table?

For Emerald cut diamonds try to get a table from 62- 70%

under 65% is best.
over that they tend too get glassy.

Although many are cut with large tables, I agree with storm that a smaller table is more pretty in my opinion.

60 to 65 is the sweet spot. also the larger the table typically--the lower the crown height. thus.............flat and glassy

Under 65% is what I aim for. I prefer that look. Larger tables tend to look glassy, but there are people who like that look. The smaller the table, the higher the crown height tends to be, but this isn''t always true.

Mine has a large table, I think it is 72% and looks FAAAR from glassy. With fancy cuts you really need to see them and not just go off numbers.
