did anyone else realize that they disconnected all of their phone numbers last month? The only way to reach them is to go through their. Website and fill out the forms and WAIT! I recently made a purchase that was not as described. Returned the item and the seller is accusing me of sending am empty package. He knows damn well the package was intact! He received it back on Tuesday and did not claim empty package until I escalated the refund on Friday ( the earliest eBay would allow). He is now sending me bogus messgaes and I can't call eBay because all of their numbers are disconnected with a message! It's been about 3 weeks since the purchase. At what point can I do a chargeback?

I didn't realize it and I think it is outrageous; hubris gone wild. Unless eBayers take collective action-boycotting the site until phone numbers are re-instated-eBay will get away with this practice. As it sinks in that no one can reach eBay by phone, collective outrage may grow. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. Talk about screwing the consumer to make an extra buck!!!

I agree that Ebay is atrocious when it comes to customer care. I was getting threats via private email over a return (the seller even Google-Earth'd my address and described my back yard!) and Ebay just said that they would investigate but couldn't give me the details, and to call my local police office if things got worse.
