Hi RT,

I am usually on the CS side, but I would like to get RT feedback on a seller on Ebay named diamonddr16. When I did a search for this seller, I came up with several RT threads.

The seller currently has a "Tiffany" ring for sale. For people who are familiar with Tiffany here, can you please tell me if it looks authentic? I will keep my opinion to myself for now:

Thank you,
Preg

I'm not particularly familiar with Tiffany, but it does have a Tiffany stamp pictured and I would assume they cannot stamp a ring with that unless it is authentic?

Without a lab report, how would the seller know that it was "not enhanced". Most tanzanite is heat treated.

It would help if the supporting Tiffany documents were posted.

I contacted this seller about 2 months ago about a Cartier Love bracelet. I asked how he comes by so many signed pieces and how he knows they are authentic. He told me that he's been in business many years, has a great many contacts and customers and may of his pieces come from his past/current customers. He doesn't have a storefront but was willing to pull the pieces I was interested in and meet me at his office downtown for viewing. I wasn't smart enough to get his name (it might be in an email correspondence but I spoke to him on the phone) as I wanted to run a BBB search on him. He's got good feedback so far aND I think he's got a good return policy in case it doesn't check out (I didnt double check so dont quote me). However he was not flexible with his pricing at all and refused to deal..and did mention that if he takes the time to pull the item and meet me, he would expect a sale if I was happy with the piece. I didn't pursue it further as I'd prefer to shop around without that type of pressure.

Ever use toolhaus? You can find the historical negative and neutral feedback.

I can understand why you are questioning authenticity. The halo kinda looks crooked in that first picture. Better in the other pictures. I suppose with the return policy, you could buy it and have it checked out by your local Tiffany.

Thanks for the toolhaus link. Tiffany will no longer authenticate pieces. I think it's very unlikely to be genuine.

There is a big market of fraudulent Tiffany (and other brand name) jewelry that is stamped with the appropriate name. The craftmanship and the poor stamp make me think this is not genuine.

Perhaps it is the pictures, but the stampings look off center, Tiffany would not do this.
When in doubt.............pass.

Agreed. The stamp alone makes me wary.

Upon first glance, I was right away suspicious about this piece, look at the quality of the tanzanite and how crooked the center stone is and how badly it is set, I very highly doubt Tiffany would ever do that. I would stay away.
