I hate ebay. Never, never again.

I purchased 3 small items. All under $30 from different sellers. I have not used my ebay account in at least a year before I purchased.

I used buy it now and paid with paypal. That was 2 weeks ago. I just went int to check where my stuff was, and it showed for all 3 shipped with tracking numbers. But...all 3 were shipped and DELIVERED to an address that was NOT me, and address thats over 2,000 miles from where I actually live!

I went into my ebay account and it shows my correct address. I went into my paypal account and it shows my correct address.

I could understand if one items was shipped the wrong address and chalk it up to seller mistake. However, all 3 were delivered to the same but wrong address far away from me. Makes it obious someone committed fraud against me. But why would the address been correct when I just checked for me on ebay and paypal?

I just emailed the sellers, and tried to contact ebay, but its IMPOSSIBLE to find a correct address for ebay to even contact. And when I tried to email ebay about not recieving items, I just kept getting a link to the tracking delivery confirmation which of course is not me. Very frustrating.

I'm soooo done with ebay but at this point want my almost $90 that I spent (total not each item) for the 3 items I bought and someone in another state has.

How did someone pull this fraud off on me and how do I get my items? Its really really creeps me out that someone probably went into my account!

It sounds like the problem is with your paypal account rather than your ebay account... I'd try to correspond with paypal or open a dispute there.

first, deep breath.

Remember this week is passover, easter etc... so a lot of countries have holidays right now, so give the seller a couple days to respond. It could be an honest mistake. After a few days of no response...

1. File a dispute with paypal. Tell them you didn't get the items.
2.They will ask the seller for the tracking number(s)
3. Paypal will compare the tracking numbers to your address.
4. Once they see the address discrepancy and that you didn't receive the items Paypal will refund your money.

It will take many days, if not weeks to get your money back, but I am confident you will.

That is so weird. I'm sorry you're going through it. I wonder if it comes from somebody at eBay or PayPal -- how else could they change the delivery address without having it show on your account or order? I'm sure now you're unlikely to order something more expensive -- this could be a test run, in case you get an item of value later on; why else would they bother with small things? Icky -- hope you get it straightened out, and don't give up! They need to look into it.

Asscherisme, I hear ya. I too have had significant problems with ebay transactions recently, but hopefully you can benefit from my having to walk through the process myself.

To contact ebay effectively, click on the "Customer Support" link on the upper right hand corner of the start page. On the right-hand side of the next page, you will see a "Contact Us" button-- IGNORE THAT-- and, beneath that, a little avatar with "Automated Agent-- Chat with Emma" with a blue link. CLICK THAT. Do this when you have some time on your hands because the wait to chat with an agent is long, but once your turn comes you'll have an old AOL IM-style conversation with a live agent. Best of all-- based on my experiences, the live agents are pretty darn effective!

At this point, the issue is out of the sellers hand's as well. Unless the recipient of the items sends them back to the sellers, of course.

I would file with PP. You'll get a refund.

This sucks, so sorry!!

was the tracking number linked to your payment in paypal? that's how I track my items (I go directly into paypal to make sure I see the tracking info) if they sent using paypal shipping manager or was the tracking # sent to you via ebay message separately by the seller?

Have you changed your paypal password? if not, I'd do it immediately and double check to make sure there are only the email addresses that you authorized or linked to your paypal account. I used to have several email address that linked to the same paypal account. contact paypal and file a dispute. You don't have to show proof that it was not delivered to you, but the seller will have to show their proof, and when paypal comes back to you about the delivery notice, make them aware that the address delivered to is not yours since in a completely different state or zip code (the only problem I see of not getting a refund is if someone with the same zip code committed the fraud). I'm sure they'll get you the refund.

Thanks so much for all the replies and suggestions. I really appreciate them.

Follow up: So I contacted the sellers for all 3 items as well as ebay by chat as suggested here. All 3 sellers immediately saw that the buyer and ship to address were different on paypal and the paypal address of ship to was unconfirmed. I was really impressed I heard from all 3 sellers within hours of writing and all expressed concern and 2 expressed feeling like they were scammed as well.
At first I Thought it might be the seller, but all 3 sellers were not linked in anyway and all three send to the same wrong address that was not me, so clearly it was not the sellers issue and they were scammed as well.

They were superhelpful in offering advice on dealing with this.

Ebay by chat determined that my ebay account as well as paypal account had been fraudulently accessed and suggested I change all passwords, and file a claim with ebay and paypal. Filing with ebay was next to impossible because when I tried to report that the items were not recieved, I kept getting linked to tracking showing items were recieved, except it was recieved by someone who was not me.

So paypal was easier and I filed a claim with them for fradulent use of account and was told that once they determine that someone used my account fraudulently they will refund my money. Ebay has confirmed to me that they could see someone did that by looking at my account and paypayl. Apparently they are linked because when I went back onto ebay to try again to file a claim, I got a message that paypal is already working on my claims.

Furthermore, a seller contacted me today to tell me when they called ebay, they were told that I had a claim in with paypal and that paypal will be refunding me.

I did change all passowords, as well as delete my saved credit card off paypal so there is no way to pay for items through paypal on my account.

When this is all done, I am going to close my ebay and paypal accounts. I just don't need the hassle.

If really feels gross that someone went into my account to steal things that I purchased for myself and my daughter. Ewwwww.
