She gave me input on the style. She wanted a princess cut with a split shank - halo setting. I showed her Verragio rings and she didn't like them at all at first. She didn't like that they looked busy. I convinced her into seeing them in person and she ended up really liking them. Then I looked at different princess cuts. Other than Whiteflash's AAA princess cuts and GoodOldGold's Superior Princess Cuts I couldn't really find a diamond I liked. I found Solasfera and decided to splurge. Definitely the best choice I made. The pictures do not show how brilliant the Solasfera is, and it makes the entire ring. Sorry that was probably longer of a response than you wanted!

Oh, I'm so glad you got her input on the ring James! It really is beautiful and I especially like the YG (or are they RG?) shoulders on the sides.

I'm sure it sparkles like crazy, none of the pics of any of our diamonds really show their full personalities. I saw your thread about GEMEX w/ questions re light performance and the best way that your FI can keep the ring dazzling is to clean it on a regular basis, but I'm sure you've told her that already .
