My budget is between 8-10K and I am looking to purchase in the next week or so. I know she basically wants a cushion halo setting and I am looking for H-F, but I maybe would consider the right I.

So as far as diamonds go.

1) http://bit.ly/1eIqm40
1.05 ct H SI1 A CUT ABOVE® Hearts and Arrows Super Ideal Round Cut Loose Diamond
But I notice the little imperfections in the close up and it is not rated eye clean. However, it's ACA

2) http://bit.ly/QtAAKi
1.01 ct G SI1 Expert Selection Round Cut Loose Diamond
same problems as 1, but it is eyeclean

3) http://bit.ly/Rvwmmx
1.021 ct H VS2 Expert Selection Round Cut Loose Diamond
My favorite, I can't notice the feather on the top, and others are on sides/underside which would be covered by the halo.

As far as rings: I prefer platinum

1) http://bit.ly/1km6tlr She likes the Ritani french set @ Ritani site, but I can't find it on WF. The one on WF seems to be only for emerald cut.

2) http://bit.ly/1ph0yRj Ritani
I like this one, but out of budget a little

3) http://bit.ly/1ph1aGB
I like this one, but it circle and not cushion, I am thinking of asking WF to make something similar in cushion, but there price would probably be much higher.

4) http://bit.ly/1ng3A68 Here is a WF custom that is also nice.

Here are some rings from her pinterest, but when we were out she picked the cushion settings.

2)http://bit.ly/1nuBgu8
3)http://bit.ly/1tiMPc2
4)http://bit.ly/1ph3rBu[/list]

I am open to any and all advice.
Thanks in Advance.

Here are a couple of other stones in your price range, worth considering:

1.06ct, H, SI2 - August Vintage Round

1.113ct, H, SI1 (ask for Pricescope discount)

Thanks, the 2nd looks really good.

what do you think of this one

http://www.ritani.com/diamonds/round-diamond-1-13-Carat-H-color-GIA-certified/D-MR526W

It has a HCA of .8 and looks good in the picture. They can ship it to the local store I was going to shop at where I know the GM and she said they can do idealscope there (hyde park).

these also looks like a good one, but under a 1 carat

Have you seen this? http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11858
1.13 G SI1 AVC for $8.6K and if you want the Tacori cushion halo setting, it's only $2.2K more.

It brings the total a little bit out of your budget, but for the Tacori setting, I think it's totally worth it. Those settings are worth a ton more.

I'd consider asking WF or BGD about a custom setting. When I was researching custom halo settings, I found that there was often little correlation between stock halos they have listed and the numbers they quoted me for custom halos. For example, I initially ruled out BGD for a custom setting based on the higher prices they listed, but after going ahead and asking they were totally in my budget. I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that I was looking for a more delicate setting (i.e., smaller melee diamonds) than their stock settings, so the quotes were significantly less than I expected. Just a thought.

If you can get the Ritani set and shipped free of charge, and look at it in-person without any monetary commitment, I think it makes sense to explore that angle!

Thanks, I agree about Tacori, there are some settings I really liked by them. That Ring does look awesome.

According to the website, it is free of charge, no obligation, but they put a hold on a credit card for the most expensive amount. Not quite sure I want to do the hold just yet.
