Hey Guys,

I have been a member for about 5 months, but I never have alot of time to post with college work and all. Anywho, my bf of 4 years and I were talking about how much we wanted to spend on my wedding set. We are both in college and decided somewhere between 4-5K. I have always loved emerald cuts, and occasionally I love a PS''ers RB, but the ones i like are usually over 1.5 carats, which are well above my price range. I wanted to know if any of you had any suggestions on good sites or places to purchase, i am just utterly clueless on where to start. We are actually looking at starting the actual process in 7 or 8 months, but i want to decide on where and what to get before that. We want to get married in May 2010, but engaged next year. Sorry if this is confusing!

Thanks,
JM

Well, there are numerous well trusted vendors that are recommended on these forums. Whiteflash, Good Old Gold, etc. They will all be willing to help you find a stone and setting within your budget. Once you have a few stones in mind, just post and ask for opinions.

In terms of finding a setting you like, have a look in local jewellers, search google images, check out the gallery on PS to see what sort of things you like in a ring. Take that back to Whiteflash or whoever to see what they have that matches your criteria.

Remember that with diamonds size isn''t everything (in my opinion). I''d rather buy a stunning half carat than an ugly 1.5 carat. A well cut, clean stone will always look good.

Welcome to PS! It sounds like you''re torn between EC and RB...keep reading and educating yourself. It could be that you will find yourself loving a really well cut fancy shape for size and cut, ya never know! Best of luck to you in your decision, we''ll be standing by to help.

Thanks!
